Filter for washing machine Geyser

Filter for washing machine GeyserThe water entering apartments contains a huge amount of salts and metals, which is why the ubiquitous limescale, rust and dirt are formed inside household appliances. This applies primarily to washing machines. There is a solution to the problem: a filter for the Geyser washing machine. What it is and how to use it, we’ll look at it in the article.

Popular varieties

As a rule, filter manufacturers produce many models that are used for various household appliances and perform different functions. We will focus on the two most popular varieties on the market: Geyser 1P and Geyser 1PF. What is the difference between them and what each copy is intended for.

1P is a filter that purifies water from impurities, such as fine sand or silt, which lead to the formation of limescale. It is installed on the cold water pipeline at the entrance to the apartment. Due to this, all the water entering the house is purified, and accordingly, the filter serves not only for the washing machine, but also for any other household appliance that interacts with water, for example, a dishwasher.

A cartridge is inserted into the filter, in which all the fine impurities retained by the filter remain. Gradually the cartridge becomes clogged and must be replaced; it cannot be cleaned, this is how the system is designed. Among the filters produced on the modern market, this one has the best performance and is among the leaders.

The filter cartridge is made of foamed propylene - a leader among insulating materials. Due to its high density, it is able to retain almost any contaminant. The porosity of the product is 5 microns.

The housing itself is capable of withstanding a pressure of 25-30 atmospheres, which will definitely allow it to cope with any water pressure in the pipeline.

1PF is a filter with a slightly different focus. If the previous one fights impurities like sand or silt, then this one purifies the water from salt inclusions, which subsequently form scale. Usually this problem greatly affects the heating device of the washing machine, so this filter would come in very handy here. We’ll talk about the characteristics of 1PF in more detail in the next paragraph.

Review Geyser 1PF

The filter looks like a transparent flask with a lid and a rubber knob to seal the connection of the device to the water supply. The part is made transparent so that you can monitor the consumption of the polyphosphate load. It consists of crystals of soluble salt, which, when combined with hardness salts, forms a chemical reaction that prevents the appearance of scale.

Important! Since salt crystals are soluble, their number decreases over time. Therefore, the filter load must be replenished periodically. If you fill the flask completely, this supply will be enough for 365 washes.

Both Geyser filters for washing machines are distinguished by their comparative cheapness and efficiency. Users are satisfied with the price-quality ratio of the devices, so if you are experiencing problems with scale, limescale and dirt in your water, give it a try!
