Error F8 on the Atlant washing machine

F8 error in SM AtlantThe Belarusian manufacturer has released a considerable number of models of Atlant washing machines that do not have a display. It is not so easy to determine the error code on them, but if your “home assistant” has a display, then you can immediately identify the F8 code. In today's publication, we will decode the F8 error on the Atlant washing machine, see what kind of problems can cause it, and of course, talk about finding and fixing these problems.

What malfunctions does the cipher hide?

In order to start washing, the machine must open the valve, draw water into the tank, rinse the powder, and then rotate the drum according to the specified program. But the water in the tank is not typed randomly, but strictly in level. The pressure switch controls the amount of water collected. So, if the machine draws too much water or, on the contrary, too little, error code F8 will appear on the display of the Atlant washing machine. At first glance, only the pressure switch is to blame, but in fact there are several reasons:

  • in the first place a water level sensor;
  • in second place, oddly enough, an incorrectly connected drain hose;
  • in third place is the filling valve.

We will need to check all this in the near future, but first we will try to clear the error, suddenly it is just a short-term failure of the electronics. Turn off the washing machine and de-energize it completely by pulling the plug from the outlet. Next, through the emergency water drain hose, remove soapy water from the tank.

The emergency drain hose is located below, next to the drain filter of the Atlant washing machine.

After 20 minutes, start the washing machine again. If the code appears again on the display, it means that we are dealing with a breakdown and we need to start its search.

Check the drain hose

Search and repair damage should be according to the scheme: from simple to complex. Do not rush to disassemble the Atlant washing machine in the cog, perhaps the malfunction is hiding closer than you think. First of all, check how the machine is connected to the sewer, as it is the wrong connection of the drain hose that often generates error code F8.

  1. The connection point of the CM drain hose should not be too high, but not less than 50 cm from the floor at about tank level. If you connect the machine to the sewer too low or too high, self-draining or “siphon effect” will occur. Water can be removed by gravity from the tank during washing, or worse, it will come from the sewer into the tank.

  2. A bend must be arranged right next to the drain hose connection point. Why is this needed? In order to impede the flow of dirty water and unpleasant odor from the sewer into the SM tank.
  3. Check that the drain hose is not too stretched, pinched, or has too many bends. If the connection of the machine to the sewage system meets generally accepted standards, you can proceed to check the details of the "home assistant" for malfunctions.

The reason is the pressure switch

As promised, let's start by checking the pressure switch. The pressure switch tubes of many washing machines become clogged and for this reason begin to junk, so the first thing we will do is to clean the tube of the water level sensor.pressure switch in SM

In order to find the part, remove the top cover of the Atlant washing machine. On most models, the level sensor is mounted on the outside of the control module housing with special mounts. Let's look inside and see the pressure switch on the front wall directly from above. What to do next?

  1. Remove the pressure switch from the mounts.
  2. Disconnect the chip with wires and hose.
  3. We clean and blow through the hose and the part tube.

The resistance of the coil of the working pressure switch in the region of 20 Ohms.

  1. Set up the multimeter and check the resistance of the coil contacts.
  2. Check the supply wiring of the level sensor for breakdown.

If it is possible to detect a malfunction, we change the pressure switch to exactly the same.You can purchase original accessories for the Atlant washing machine in the nearest specialized store.

It is worth checking the filling valve

Failed to detect a breakdown, so you need to check intake solenoid valve. It is located there, under the top cover of the Atlant washing machine, only on the back wall, exactly behind the powder box. First, disconnect the valve coil and check the contact resistance. In normal operating condition, the multimeter should show a resistance of 2-4 kOhm, if it shows much less or much more, then the intake valve is faulty and needs to be changed.

Atlant inlet valve

In the event that the inlet valve coil is in order, do not rush to rejoice. It is very possible that the flow filter is clogged and now prevents water from entering the machine. The solution is to clean the flow filter. First, unscrew the inlet hose from the machine body. In the place of its connection inside the fitting there is a small plastic mesh. This is a flow filter. Carefully remove it and wash it from dirt. If the net is overgrown with limescale, it can be soaked in a solution of citric acid, and then washed.

The fill valve may not work well even if its coil is in good condition. In this case, replacement of this part will be required.

In some cases, the cause of the F8 error is electronics, specifically, the control module. Atlantes firmware often flies, so you can call a wizard who will reset it or reset it to you. In an extreme case, a replacement control module will be required, but this will be decided by the master. In cases with electronics, self-activity can be fatal, so in any case, entrust this matter to a professional.
