Error F10 on the Atlant washing machine

Error F10 on SM AtlantSelf-diagnosis of modern Atlant washing machines is a real help in eliminating the emerging problem. If an unknown F10 code appears on the machine’s display, and you don’t know what it means, then after reading to the end, you will most likely understand how you can eliminate the error. We will decipher its meaning, talk about the causes of the appearance and provide a brief repair manual.

Code Decryption

Error F10 on the washing machine Atlant informs the user that the sunroof lock device (UBL) is faulty. In fact, this happens approximately like this: the user closes the hatch, presses the wash start button, but the start does not occur, and at the same time an error appears on the display. The door did not lock.

Error F10 on non-display machines Atlant manifests itself by the flashing of two indicators on the control panel: the first and third.

Breakdown reasons

Why this malfunction occurs, what is its cause, let's understand in more detail. An error code may appear when:

  • UBL is faulty, namely bimetallic plates inside the lock are worn out. As a result, the plate does not work, the door does not lock;
  • a short circuit occurs, as a result of which the thermocouple of the lock becomes broken. And this means that the current does not pass through it, the lock will not close;
  • defective electronic module sending an incorrect code to the display, which stops the washing machine.

Debugg

With the decoding of the error code, we figured out about other codes of the self-diagnosis system of Atlant washing machines, read the article Error codes for the Atlant washing machine. Now let's figure out what to do in this situation. The solution is to replace the washing machine door lock device. To repair a modern UBL is useless. To do this, you first need to disconnect the washing machine from the network, and then follow the instructions:

  1. Open the door of the washer and use a screwdriver to remove the metal clamp worn on the rubber cuff.
  2. Put the cuff in the drum so that it does not bother you.

  3. Remove the bolts holding the UBL.

  4. Gently pull out the device from the inside. In this case, try not to tear off the wiring.
  5. Sign or take a photo on the smartphone with the location of the wires that are connected to the UBL.

  6. Next, you need to take a multimeter and configure it in the resistance test mode to verify that the lock lock is malfunctioning.
  7. Set the multimeter probes to zero and phase. If a three-digit number appears on the screen, then the device is working, otherwise it is broken.
  8. Next, you need to connect the probes to zero and the common contact. If the multimeter gives 0 or 1, then everything is fine.
  9. Having made sure that the UBL is malfunctioning, you can safely change it to a new one. It is enough to buy a working device and connect it to the chip with wires.
    ! Repair UBL does not make much sense, and it is inexpensive. When buying, call the seller not only the brand, but also the model of the washing machine, and even better, take the faulty device with you, so you will probably be sold a similar one.
  10. Then you need to insert the locking device into place and fasten with screws.
  11. Unscrew the cuff from the tank and secure the elastic with a hose clamp.

In rare cases, as we wrote above, the control module may become the cause of the error. Do not venture to repair this unit of the washing machine yourself, unless, of course, you are not an expert in microcircuits, resistors, and similar semiconductor elements. The photo below shows the electronic module and the area of damaged resistors is highlighted, which led to error F10.

SM Atlant electronic module

This module was repaired by a service center master. To fix the problem, they had to re-solder a whole node of resistors. If you have dealt with similar work and have everything you need for this, get down to business, but no - entrust everything to professionals. Good luck
