Electrolux washing machine does not wring out

SM Electrolux does not wring outEveryone was faced with a situation where the washing machine at the most inopportune moment ceases to work fully or partially. But there is a worse situation: you buy new equipment, run the laundry there and find out that one of its functions refuses to work. In this article we will consider what to do if the spin of linen turned out to be such a function using the Electrolux washing machine as an example.

Choose a different mode

If you find that after washing the laundry remains wet, do not rush to call the master. The most common and common reason that the machine does not wring is the use of a program in which the wring is not used. Such programs may be:

  • washing wool;
  • washing silk;
  • gentle washing.

To make sure that this is the case, use the instructions for the car (if it is not on hand, find it on the Internet). If the mode you use does not imply spinning, just start it at the end of the wash separately. The plus is that these problems are not related to technical malfunctions and can be fixed without repairing yourself or putting the machine in service.

Also, the spin can be forced off even in the mode in which it is provided. Check that you are not faced with just such a situation.

Incorrectly stacked linen

As a rule, modern models of washing machines have the function of determining overload (this is a situation where the weight of the laundry is too large and the machine cannot cope with the load). If your machine does not have this mode, then trouble occurs.

  1. The laundry is washed without visible problems.
  2. During the start of the spin, the machine tries to spin the drum, but this does not happen due to the large weight of the laundry.
  3. Attempts are repeated several more times.
  4. If the drum does not start spinning, the washing machine stops working and you get wet laundry in your hands.

If the spin does not work precisely for this reason, at the end of the washing it is worth trying to remove the laundry and spread it evenly on the drum. This will prevent the formation of a heavy lump of laundry and reduce the load on the drum.

There is a lot of water in the tank

CM drum with waterAnother reason that the machine has not started to squeeze out laundry may be too much water in the tank. Before spinning, the washing machine drains the water, and during it additionally gets rid of the water coming out of the squeezed laundry. If you suspect that the machine has stopped spinning because of this, do the following:

  • unscrew the drain filter;
  • check it for excess objects, then clean it;
  • Check for blockages in the drain hose or in the drain pipe that goes to the pump from the tank. If there is a blockage - eliminate;
  • put the hoses and filter in place and check that the machine is working again.

If the problem persists, listen to the pump: it should hum. If this does not happen, you may need to replace the drain pump.

Hall sensor does not work

CM tachometerA Hall sensor or tachometer is a device inside the washing machine that detects and controls the speed of rotation of the drum. If it is faulty, then the machine may incorrectly determine the number of revolutions, due to which the spin will be either unsatisfactory or completely absent.

The main culprit in the breakdown of the tachometer is the frequent loading of too much laundry into the car. In addition, the Hall sensor may loosen the mount or the contacts may move away.

In order to check the operation of the tachometer, you will have to remove the motor. After that, check all the contacts, if necessary, strip them, and also tighten the mount. If this does not help and the sensor itself is faulty, you will have to buy a new one.

The motor broke

The main culprit for a breakdown or poor engine performance is the wear of the brushes - because of this, the engine cannot accelerate the drum to a sufficient number of revolutions for spinning. If you want to try to repair the engine with your own hands, you will first have to get to it. To do this, follow these steps.

  1. Remove the washing machine housing.
  2. Disconnect a belt from the motor, disconnect wires.
  3. Turn off the engine.

Since the tachometer is located near the motor, you can also check it at the same time.

Check the brushes on the motor, test the coils and winding. If something is faulty, replace it. If the problem is too widespread, it is easiest to completely replace the motor.

Control Module Fails

The control module is the command center of the washing machine. All signals pass through it, after processing of which the necessary commands arrive to other parts of the machine. If you checked the mode, the weight of the laundry, the water in the tank, the tachometer and the engine, only the option with the module remains. Unfortunately, you will not be able to independently verify and even repair the module - you will have to call the wizard.

Next, we consider situations where the spin cycle works, but there are “minor troubles”. If during the spinning of laundry or washing you hear extraneous knocks - most likely, there are foreign objects in the space between the tank and the drum. To correct the situation, it is necessary to remove the heater and remove extraneous things. Although the situation, as a rule, does not affect the quality of washing or spinning, you should not tighten it: foreign objects in the machine can lead to its complete malfunction.

Also, abnormal sounds in the washing machine may indicate bearing wear. In this case, disassemble the machine and check if they have leaked. If any of the problems cannot be solved on your own - do not worry, not everything can be solved without special tools and knowledge. Just contact a specialist - even if this strikes your wallet a little, it will help to save both time and nerves.
