Cleaning the washing machine filter
Usually self-cleaning the filter does not cause any problems. If we have already gained access to it, then it remains only to extract it and clean it.
Where is the filter in the washing machine? This part is located in the bottom behind the front of the case. To access it, you need to open the bottom panel on the front side of our household appliances. In order to remove the filter, it is necessary to grasp it and unscrew it counterclockwise. But some difficulties may arise.
Remove the filter
How to unscrew the filter in the washing machine will discuss further. It sometimes happens that a part is fixed with a screw for reliability. Then, to extract it, we need to first remove the screw, and only then unscrew it. In cases where cleaning is rare, the filter can be unscrewed problematically. If it comes with difficulty, it is important to control efforts so as not to break the handle or the part itself. If the filter sits so tight that no efforts allow you to remove it, then you can go the other way and get to it from the side of the pump.
In especially unfavorable situations, for example, if scale appears on the thread of a part, you can not even unscrew it from the inside. Then it’s easier to take it out along with the entire snail. And only then, in a more convenient position and with an additional tool, try to carefully remove it or break it out by force.
In the latter case, it will be necessary to purchase a new filter and replace the broken one. By the way, in the process of force extraction, a snail may suffer. Then it will also need to be changed.
To clean the filter, we need to reject the machine, transferring its weight to the two rear legs. Then we put a small container under it. It will be needed to drain the water when unscrewing the filter element. Then slowly unscrew the filter. And the water pours into the container.
The removed part must be thoroughly cleaned and returned to its original place.
Sometimes the rubbish may remain in the hole of the machine from which we removed the part. Light it with a flashlight or other light source and carefully inspect. If any trash is found, it is worth removing it and cleaning the hole. Then we install the filter element back and check the washing machine by running a test wash.

Tips
If our filter is very dirty, then there is a chance that it will not turn off just like that. To solve this problem, you need to get to it by removing one of the walls of the machine.
Depending on the model of the machine, it will be necessary to remove different parts of the body. For Ardo, Virpull, Kandy, AlGI and Ariston - you can get from the bottom, sometimes these machines have no bottom, in other cases it is removable. AEG, Bosch and Siemens need to remove the front wall. Zanussi and Electrolux have a back. You can read more about how this is done in the article “Replacing the washing machine pump”. There is also a video instruction for different models.
Also, if the washing machine simply does not have a filter by its design, you need to open its housing and get to the cochlea. So you will need to check the pipes and the drain pump itself for clogging.

Tell me, where is the filter at Electrolux?
I have a flaxcare electrolux. Unfortunately, I did not find a filter. I removed the cover from below, and there everything was just clogged with plastic. This, what happens, with a 6 kg load, the machine does not have a filter. Some kind of marriage?
