Bosch washing machine does not heat water - what to do

SM Bosch does not heat waterMasters shrug their heads in disbelief, not understanding why many users tend to change the heater when the washing machine stops heating water. The lack of heating can be the result of a variety of breakdowns, and today we will try to describe them. If you are faced with the fact that your Bosch washing machine does not heat water, do not rush to draw hasty conclusions. First you need to carefully check everything, that’s what we’ll do now.

Breakdown reasons

No heating when washing? Typically, the hostess notices such a breakdown almost immediately after its manifestation. Firstly, linen begins to stretch much worse, and secondly, condensation appears on the hatch door during washing, which indicates that it is washed from the inside by cold water.

In most cases, the machine continues to operate normally, despite the lack of heat. But sometimes it stops, giving errors F19 or F22. We have to solve the problem immediately, but how to carry out repairs without having the appropriate knowledge and experience? Do not worry about this, our specialists are always ready to help. Let's first highlight the circle of possible malfunctions.

  1. TEN burned out or its circuit broke.burned TEN
  2. The temperature sensor or its circuit has failed.
  3. The water level sensor is clogged or burned out.
  4. The control module is faulty, the firmware has “flown”.

To determine the specific malfunction by the external behavior of the Bosch washing machine is even difficult for an experienced master. The amateur will be able to detect damage only during the classic check. How it is implemented, we will now tell.

TEN or its chain

The heater in the Bosch washing machine is located in front, so to get to it, you need to remove the front wall of the housing. Just because the front wall can not be removed, you must first:

  • remove the top cover;
  • pull out the powder receptacle;
  • unscrew the control panel;
  • take out the decorative panel;
  • remove the hatch cuff;

The hatch cuff can not be completely removed, it is enough to pull off the clamp and put the elastic into the drum.

  • unscrew UBL.

For partial disassembly of the washing machine, it is enough to get a screwdriver for four and six-sided bits, and for testing we need a multimeter. First of all, we check the resistance of the heater itself, which is installed in a special socket in the tank. Next, check the power wiring.

In the future, we act on the result of the verification. If the heater is faulty, you need to pull it out, and put in its place a new original part. If an open circuit is detected, you need to solder the wire or replace it if it is damaged. temperature sensor

The temperature sensor breaks not so often, however, it is worth checking. The causes of the temperature sensor malfunction lie in the overheating of the water, in a factory defect or in a system failure, but, ultimately, the reason is not so important. It is much more important to detect the problem in time and replace the defective part.

The temperature sensor is installed directly in the seal of the heating element., which means that, as in the previous case, we will have to partially disassemble the Bosch washing machine in order to get to this part.

Before disassembling the Bosch washing machine, disconnect it from the mains and shut off the water.

  1. We take a screwdriver with a T-20 bat and unscrew the screws that hold the top cover of the machine body. Slide the cover a little forward, and then lift it up.
  2. To the end we push the powder receptacle towards us, and then pushing the tongue in the area of the rinse aid compartment, pull out the powder receptacle.
  3. Under the dispenser there are screws that hold the control panel, they need to be unscrewed.There is one more screw on the right side of the control panel of the washer; you also need to unscrew it.

  4. The control panel now "sits" on the latches. With some effort, snap it off and take it off. Be careful not to tear the wires.
  5. We fully open the hatch door, bend the cuff from above with your fingers, and then we catch the clamp spring with a screwdriver. By pulling the spring clip up with a screwdriver, you can easily dismantle it.
  6. We fill the cuff inside the hatch so that it does not interfere with the removal of the front wall of the machine body.

  7. Below the front wall of the machine there is a narrow decorative panel. It is fastened on latches. Carefully remove the decorative panel, and then unscrew all the screws holding the front wall of the case.
  8. We unscrew the screws near the UBL, as well as one screw, which is located on top between the front wall of the machine body and the control panel.
  9. Carefully remove the front wall, while disconnecting the power cable UBL.

So, the heater with a temperature sensor is now "in full view", what should we do next? And then we remove the wires from the temperature sensor and check its resistance. If the sensor is defective, unscrew the tension nut, remove the old sensor, and install a new part in its place. If the sensor is intact, you need to check the wiring for an open.

Level sensor

If your Bosch washing machine does not get hot, the water level sensor may be at fault. At first glance, there is no direct connection between the sensor that determines the water level in the bank of the washer and heating the water, but this is only at first glance. In fact, it is the pressure switch that can become the culprit of this problem.

CM Bosch level sensorA water level sensor is located near the heater, so we will not re-describe the partial disassembly of the washing machine. Carefully reading the previous paragraph, you can get to this detail. First of all, you need to check if the pressure switch tube is clogged.

  1. We put our hands between the tank and the side wall of the body of the Bosch washing machine.
  2. We feel for the tube that goes to the pressure switch and carefully remove it.
  3. We pull out the tube and inspect it for clogging, blow it if necessary.

If there is no blockage, it is necessary to check the resistance of the pressure switch coil. A faulty coil cannot be repaired, you will have to remove the wires from the level sensor, remove the broken pressure switch, and put in place a working part. We check the wiring in a standard way for breakdown.

Control module

After making sure that the heater, thermal sensor and pressure switch of the Bosch washing machine are operational, and the wiring is intact, you need to think about problems with the electronics. There is a high probability of a malfunction in the control module.

What is the nature of this malfunction is hard to say. The tire may have burnt or the track has been damaged. Maybe the firmware just “flied” and it needs to be reset. There are many options and it is possible to establish the true reason only as a result of comprehensive professional testing. We strongly recommend entrusting this work to an experienced craftsman, because if you, as a result of a makeshift repair, damage the control module, the cost of replacing it will be huge.

A relatively inexpensive master will test the electronic unit of the Bosch washing machine and issue its verdict: repair or replacement. Most often, electronic components need to be repaired, so do not get discouraged ahead of time.

How to wash without repair

In the event that you do not have time to repair the Bosch machine, and you need to erase the accumulated mountain of laundry now, we offer an original way out. Immediately make a reservation that for a long time it is better not to operate the faulty machine and repair it as soon as possible. So, how to wash clothes properly if the machine refuses to heat the water?

  1. First, we determine at what temperature we will wash things. We set the indicated temperature on the domestic water heater (for example, 600C) and wait until the water heats up.washing without repair
  2. We approach the washing machine and turn off the supply of cold water to it. Open the powder receptacle, pour the powder into it and put the shower head in it.
  3. We put dirty laundry into the drum of the washing machine, close the hatch door, turn on the machine and set the washing program.
  4. Immediately turn on the hot water, which begins to flow through the shower head into the powder receptacle, flushing the powder into the tank of the washing machine.
  5. We wait until the water is typed and observe the behavior of the washing machine. As soon as there is enough water, the machine will start washing, at this time we must turn off the hot water, remove the shower head from the tray and push the powder receptacle into place.
  6. We open the previously closed cold water tap and you can safely leave the bathroom. Then the washing machine will finish the washing itself, pour the soapy water, pump in the rinse water, rinse the laundry, and then wring it out. All this will be done without your participation.

As you have already noticed, this method is suitable not only for those who have hot water. If you have only cold water in your house, you can heat two buckets of hot water and gradually pour this water through the powder receiver into the tank of the washing machine. The effect will be exactly the same.
