How to change shock absorbers on a Bosch washing machine

Bosch washing machine shock absorbers replacementA terrible knock, clang and crash during the spin cycle indicate to the user that it is time to replace the shock absorbers in the Bosch washing machine. If you have money, it is better to invite a qualified craftsman, he will do the job quickly and efficiently. If you want to save a little, you must first study our instructions, and only then start repairing, in order to avoid problems that may arise in the process. So, let's start preparing for the repair.

We prepare everything you need

The handicraft repair of the Bosch washing machine does not endure in a hurry, and when you consider that replacing shock absorbers is a rather complicated repair, you need to carefully prepare yourself, which we will do now. We begin the preparation with the selection of tools, take:

  • screwdriver;
  • drill bit 13 mm;

A drill is needed in order to drill factory mounts and remove old shock absorbers.

  • set of heads;
  • set of screwdrivers;
  • awl;
  • pliers.

In addition to a simple set of tools, we need some components. Firstly, new shock absorbers. No need to buy cheap Chinese counterparts, better buy branded shock absorbers from Bosch. By the way, now they can be ordered via the Internet in the Bosch company store. Secondly, 13 mm bolts, nuts and washers (2 pieces each) will be needed. In general, this is the entire repair kit.

How to get to the details?

Now we are preparing the washing machine itself for repair. We disconnect the machine from the network, disconnect the inlet hose from the water supply, after having previously blocked the water, disconnect the drain hose from the siphon. We twist the hoses and fix them on the back wall of the washer body so that they do not interfere. It remains to pull the washing machine to where it will be convenient to work with it and you can start disassembling it yourself.

  1. First you needremove the top cover of the washing machine Bosch
  2. We take out the powder receiver from the niche.
  3. On the side of the control panel there is a screw, unscrew it. We also unscrew the screws that hide behind the powder receiver.
  4. Carefully remove the panel to the side, try not to tear off the wiring.
  5. We put the car on the back wall and unscrew the screws located on the bottom, near the front legs.
  6. We open the door of the hatch, pry off with a screwdriver the clamp that holds the cuff, weaken it and remove it. We fill the cuff of the hatch inside the drum so as not to interfere.
  7. We pull off the front wall of the machine, but be careful, wires from the UBL will stretch behind it, they need to be carefully removed.

Well, having removed the front wall of the washing machine, we got to the shock absorbers. Pedantic German craftsmen argue that in order to remove the shock absorbers, you need to completely disassemble the Bosch washer, removing, including the tank. In this case, changing the shock absorbers will be a little easier, but you will add twice as much work to yourself. We will try to do without further disassembly of the washing machine.

We make a replacement

First you need to shake each of the shock absorbers and make sure that at least one of them is faulty. We unscrew the bottom screws that connect the shock absorbers to the washer body. At this point, everything is simple. WITHAt the top, shock absorbers are mounted directly to the tank with special plastic mounts. You just can’t disconnect them, so we will use a 13 mm drill. We insert the drill into the screwdriver and drill the fasteners. Disconnect the old shock absorbers and throw them away.

We install new shock absorbers and fasten them with bolts to the body. On the other hand, you need to screw them to the tank. Shake the tank, check how the new shock absorbers work. We assemble the Bosch washing machine in the reverse order and reinstall it. Self-repair can be considered successfully completed. If you still have questions, you can watch the training video, good luck!
