Learning to make original gift wrapping

Gift wrapping often becomes a serious and difficult task when you don't know what to choose. As you know, the best present – this is made with your own hands and from the heart. Therefore, if a gift is ready, but you don’t know what to give it in, a homemade gift bag made from a regular newspaper, leaflet or magazine sheet can help you out. Such packaging will not only save you time when choosing, but will also make your gift the most original.

To make it you will need:
- A sheet of newspaper, a magazine page or a newspaper. Depends on the size of your gift. I needed to pack the brooch, so I made a small bag from a regular leaflet.
- ruler, scissors and glue for paper.



We need to make a hollow base for the bag from the sheet, so first of all we need to glue the two sides of the sheet together. To do this, bend the edge of the sheet on one side and position the paper lengthwise.



Then we coat the folded strip with glue and fold the sheet in half so that the strip fastens the second side to the first.



You should end up with a parallelepiped like this.



We connect the sides so that we get an accordion between them. We do this on both sides, pressing with scissors.



Let's start making the bottom of the bag. To do this, bend the base at one end. About two centimeters, maybe less, but not more.



We open the folded part so that the inner corners of each side connect with the fold strip inside the bag and the bottom opens well.



Now you need to fold the edges to close the bag and make a solid bottom. I marked the folds with a pencil.



Lubricate the curved parts with glue and, pressing each edge with scissors, carefully seal the bottom. Try to seal the parts evenly so that the bag opens well.



So, in just an hour, I came up with such a cute, quite durable and original package in which I will put the brooch. It will also fit a small card, earrings, pendant, squirrel or other nice little thing well. In such a package, if you make it from a map, you can give your friends and family souvenirs from the country you visited in an original way.




By experimenting with paper thickness and colors, you can get a wide variety of bags for all occasions. Try it! It's not difficult at all and doesn't take too much time. But you will get a lot of emotions, both during production and when you give the gift.
