1. First you need to prepare a template. Start with a simple - circle, small diameter. In the future, you can cut butterflies, stars, hearts and more.
It is important if you decide on more complex figures, then do not rush to do too many blanks. Perhaps it would be better to make several butterflies or stars on the curtain than the entire curtain of them.
2. Take a small flap and fold it several times, so that its height does not exceed the height of the template. Fasten the fabric with sewing needles and outline the pattern with a fabric pencil. It is important if you prepare workpieces from satin crepe, or other slippery, very thin or dense material, then folding the flap several times is not worth it. Better to tinker with cutting for longer than to spoil all the material at a time!
3. Cut the workpiece. A little trick to prevent the edges of the fabric from spreading, and your workpieces not too showing flaws in the form of irregularities when cutting, use scissors with a zigzag blade. It will look very original!
4. Now we sew the blanks into ribbons on a sewing machine. The length of the tape is the length of your curtains. Remember, the evenness and clarity of the line is not important here, and a slight bend will give additional “torsion” in weight. Remember to make a loop for each tape if you do not have a ceiling cornice. It is not necessary to fasten the tapes together, since all the irregularities when stitching will be striking, in extreme cases, you can stitch together several rows closest to the loop.
