Tile manufacturing

The mass for casting tiles needs to be prepared from dry gypsum or gypsum plaster - it can also be purchased at the same store. The dry mixture should be diluted with water to the consistency of sour cream or fritters dough.




The mold must be slightly moistened with water before pouring. Then, the master must impose and level the divorced gypsum into it to the required level. Since usually they make not one, but many tiles, it is recommended that the fill level be noted on the form with a contrasting color paint. Now the form must be placed on a flat surface parallel to the level of the Earth. Cures gypsum for 2-3 hours in the fresh air. But it’s better to wait until it solidifies, and it can take a whole day. You can also use the microwave, then the pour time is reduced to 3-4 minutes. But not all forms can fit in the microwave.




When the tile hardens, it must be removed from the mold. If there is a problem when removing the product from the mold, it is recommended that the bottom of the mold be placed in hot water for several minutes. Turn the mold in order to free the tile, it should be on a soft surface so that the tile, falling out of the mold, does not split.




Now you can give the front surface of the tile the color that you need to decorate the room. For painting gypsum, you can use a variety of paints, from watercolors to oil. It is quite acceptable to apply coloring, drawing on it what you want. Suddenly, someone decided to "capture" in this way the artistic talent of their offspring? It's just wonderful and very creative! Children's drawings will delight parents from the walls, and they will not be able to burn out, collect dust and to fix them do not need to drive nails into the wall.



You can also use bright stickers as a decor. They can also be purchased in stores. But some can use regular applications, cutting them out, for example, from old magazines or printing them on a printer. Pictures are simply pasted onto the surface of the tile.
When the front surface of the tile becomes completely dry, it can be varnished. At this stage of manufacture, any colorless varnishes are suitable as a dousing. If the tile was coated with oil paint or enamel without the use of stickers, then you can simply cover the tile again with the same paint.
