A little imagination, glue, paint and... cereal and a standard, unattractive photo frame can turn into a real exclusive. Such a souvenir will cost pennies, but thanks to the embossed mother-of-pearl surface it will look unusual and expensive. You can decorate your house and present present.
To make such a unique souvenir, we will need:
Plastic or wooden photo frame without decoration,
Universal glue for any surfaces,
Lentils or other grains
Spray paint with glitter (“gold” or “silver”),
Sponge for applying glue,
Newspapers or paper.
Take the photo frame apart so as not to stain the glass with glue and paint, and place it on a table covered with paper. Lubricate the entire surface of the frame with glue. It is most convenient to apply the glue with a sponge - the thicker the layer, the more firmly the cereal will be fixed. After the layer of glue covers the entire surface of the frame, sprinkle the frame thickly with cereal and tamp it down with your hands. In my case it’s lentils, but you can use any cereal. The main thing is to first try the paint on a small amount of cereal and visually evaluate the result.Leave the photo frame for 1-2 hours for the glue to set.
When the glue has hardened, shake off any excess grain from the frame and coat with spray paint. It’s better to do this outside: firstly, because of the smell, and secondly, so as not to splash everything around. Paint with a shine will look best. I used a car one, but I think any one will do. Again, leave the frame alone for several hours so that the paint dries and its chemical smell evaporates.
After 24 hours, the glue and paint should dry completely. The frame is ready, you can assemble it and insert a photo into it. Even when using powerful glue, I do not recommend dropping or tilting the frame. It is best to immediately hang it on the wall or fix it on a shelf.
