Smelting aluminum cans into bullion at home

Despite the fact that aluminum has a much higher melting point compared to tin or lead, it is quite simple to re-melt it at home using a conventional gas burner. In particular, aluminum cans from various drinks, which are so common, can simply be melted into metal ingots.

We set the mold for melting on a metal base - in this case, it is the case from the computer's power supply. We light the burner. We put the crumpled jar into the mold. And we begin to straighten the burner.

Fluxes are not taught to use? Fume% 20. From below, the metal body draws heat from the melt. Sand no mind to put? Not even TWO YOU! ZERO!!!

I understand that the value of the obtained ingot is slightly inferior to the gold one, but still, I risk asking, what is the practical application of the final product?

As I understand it, there is only one “practical application” - the delivery of scrap to a collection point. But as already mentioned above, a similar method will not pay back the cost of burnt gas ...

A kilogram of aluminum is at the reception point of 30 rubles. And in order to melt the cans (1 kg) so much, you need gas cartridges “not enough” and their price is not comparable. Then the meaning of this?
