Even though aluminum has a much higher melting point than tin or lead, it is quite easy to melt it at home using a regular gas torch. In particular, aluminum cans from various drinks, which are so common, can simply be melted down into metal ingots.
Will need
- Aluminum cans of any size.
- Gas-burner.
- Molds: for melting and for pouring.
Melting technology
We take and crush all the cans with our feet or a hammer, trying to make them as compact as possible.
We place the mold for melting on a metal base - in this case it is the case from the computer power supply. We light the burner. Place the crumpled jar in the mold. And we begin to straighten it with a burner.
After 10-15 seconds of generous heating, the jar will melt.
Until everything has cooled down, add another jar and melt it too.
We remove the scale with a metal stick.
Pour the molten aluminum into the pouring mold.
We continue to warm up so that everything spreads well in the form.
Turn off the burner and wait for the ingot to cool.
As a result, you can melt a whole bunch of ingots.
Be careful: be sure to wear eye and hand protection!
