With some skill, it allows you to cut even square bottles, as well as oval and other shapes. To do this, during the cutting process, adjustments are made for each sector of the bottle.

Production is carried out from plywood 10 mm thick and wooden blocks of various sections: 15x30, 20x20, 30x50 mm. The necessary materials, cut to size, are presented in the photo below:
From the tools I used a screwdriver, a drill, a jigsaw in conjunction with homemade guide frame, square, tape measure and hammer.
Step-by-step instructions for making the device:
1. First, from a 30x50 mm block, you need to cut right triangles with legs of 50 and 70 mm.
And also two racks in which you need to drill holes with an 8-inch drill.
2. On the plywood base, mark the position for the triangles made from the block.
In the marked areas, we drill holes for self-tapping screws with chamfers to hide the heads of the screws.Ideally, it is better to drill such holes using combination drills with a countersink, but in the absence of one, I used a metal drill with a diameter of 10 mm.
3. Screw the wooden triangles along the markings.
4. We install racks on the T-shaped base (carriage).
The width of the second base should be equal to the width of the first base, and in the narrow part (the “leg” area of the letter T) should be narrower by 62 mm (two widths of the triangles from the bar plus a millimeter gap on the side).
We fasten it using wood screws.
5. We make a limiter from a 20x20 mm timber. To do this, set both bases in working position and place a block on top.
We fasten it with self-tapping screws into the end of the block. After installing the stop, you need to check the movement of the racks - it should be free.
6. Next, install two plywood slats.

8. Next, mark a groove on the carriage for fasteners to fix the carriage in a certain position.
And we drill 8 holes in the extreme positions of the groove.
Next, you need to widen the holes until a groove is formed. I did this using a special milling drill. You can buy this at Ali Express.
But you can use a jigsaw or, in extreme cases, a file.
9. When marking the groove on the carriage, two holes with a diameter of 6 mm were made in the base. One of them is technological and will not be useful to us. The hole located closer to the holder for bottles is drilled from the bottom side of the holder to a depth of about 3 mm to 10 mm.
Insert an M6 bolt 30 mm long into the hole.
Next, use a hammer to simply hammer the bolt into the hole.
The wrench size of the M6 bolt is 10 mm, which corresponds to the diameter of the recess in the hole.The edges of the bolt head allow the bolt to be installed quite tightly and no additional fastening is required, but no one forbids you to use epoxy to secure the fastener tightly.
10. Install the carriage on the base and secure it with a washer and wing nut.
11. Next, we make a holder for the glass cutter from a 15x30 mm wooden block.
Drill a through hole 8 mm.
Next, drill a hole from the opposite end perpendicular to the first hole. The diameter of the hole must match the diameter of the glass cutter handle.
From the end of the holder, use a jigsaw to cut the groove to the hole.
From the same end, parallel to the first hole, we make another hole of 6 mm.
We install the glass cutter and, using M6 fasteners, clamp the glass cutter handle in the holder.
Sits securely.
12. As a guide for the holder, I used a meter M8 stud, from which I cut a piece the width of the carriage plus 1 cm for the nuts.
I made chamfers using a petal circle on a grinder.
13. Install the pin into the carriage posts. To secure the holder against longitudinal displacement, M8 nuts are provided along its edges.
The bottle cutter is ready. By moving the carriage along the groove and the ability to adjust the position of the carriage, we can cut bottles and cans of various diameters and lengths.
