In this article, we will look at how to make a charger for a mobile phone on a solar battery. This device is easy to manufacture, has a low weight and dimensions, but performs a very useful function. It will become an indispensable assistant during travel, and your gadgets will always be charged. Using it, you can power any device, whether it is a mobile phone, tablet, MP3 player or even Power Bank. The speed of operation will depend on the size and power of the solar battery that you will use when assembling. A pleasant moment will be the extremely low cost of parts.

Will need

For manufacturing you will need:
  • .
  • .
  • .
  • Heat shrink wires.

Of the tools we only need a soldering iron, knife or scissors.
I bought all components on Ali Express. There are a lot of options to choose from, you can experiment with the sizes of solar cells or choose a different connector if you, for example, have an iPhone.

Assembly process

Solder to the plus and minus on the battery wires.

Solder another negative one in parallel. Now the positive wire must be connected to the extreme leg of the stabilizer, and the negative wire at the junction with the central one.

We connect the free leg to the extreme contact of the USB port. Solder the remaining wire to the second side contact of the connector.

Before assembly, it is necessary to put on shrink wires in advance.

After soldering, they need to be heated with a hairdryer or a simple lighter.

The presence of tweezers and a magnifying glass on hand will facilitate the work, since all parts have small dimensions and the distance between the contacts. This also applies to the size of the soldering iron tip - the smaller the better.
We insert the connector into the socket of the smartphone, we place the battery in the sunlight.

The discharge is on. The device is ready to go!
Now it’s a good idea to fix this charge on the back of the case or case of a cell phone or other device. This can be done using double-sided tape or hot glue. Using thin wiring, hold power inward under the cover. For compactness, use the small-sized chip housing of the stabilizer 7805, then you can carefully mount everything inside.
Now the charger will be impossible to forget at home, and the charging process will become even easier. In cloudy weather, it does not work as we would like, but it still works. But it is worth noting that you can no longer charge your device while on the beach or in the forest, especially for free.

To begin with, this solar panel cannot provide an effective voltage at the input of lm 7805. With direct sunlight, it gives about 6 volts, and at lm 7805 the effective voltage is 10 volts, the minimum (for normal stabilization is 7.5 volts). The working current given by such a battery is about 120-150 mA, which is also not enough to charge a modern smartphone. Yes, the phone will show charging, but in fact it will almost not charge. This problem is solved by adding at least three more panels connected in parallel and a Chinese converter with Ali.

They say that a rectifier is not needed because the power controller is built into the batteries.

I don’t understand, why does such a solar panel need lm 7805? With a current like that of this socket, even if it charges, it will leave the whole sunny day. And the stabilizer is not there, stupidly hook the panel on a straight line and that's it. I assure you, the battery will not explode, it will not even warm up, or it may even charge, 25 percent

No, it will not charge. It will be discharged faster than being charged.

Why is this necessary? The batteries do not like heating and the panel heats up

You can put a pulse stabilizer, it will be much better

It’s time for the Chinese to release such smartphones, otherwise they put the battery on 3000, it’s a laugh!
