How to make a reusable aerosol from the usual

We are used to throwing out empty aerosol cans without bothering to reuse them. However, today's homemade product refutes these stereotypes, and shows how you can give a second life to the most ordinary empty paint can. So let's go!

How to make a reusable aerosol from the usual

We will need:

Spray paint can (or any other) - 1 pc;
Bicycle nipple (automobile can also be used) - 1 pc;
Knife, awl, screwdriver with a drill 3-4 mm;
Gas burner, solder, flux (preferably soldering acid).

Aerosol can handling

On the collar of the cylinder, usually free of paintwork, make markings, and core it with an awl under the hole. The nipple must first be disassembled by pulling the spool out of it so as not to melt during soldering.
At a slight angle, drill a hole with a diameter of 3-4 mm with a screwdriver.

Degrease the surface of the nipple and the soldering zone on the cylinder. To do this, a special degreaser, gasoline or solvent 646 is suitable. Wipe the surface dry with a clean rag.

Apply flux to the back of the nipple and around the hole on the bottle.

Putting the nipple at the place of soldering will help a regular bamboo skewer. We insert a nipple on it, and thread it through the hole, exposing it exactly in the center.

With a gas burner we heat the base of the nipple, and solder it with solder. But before this operation, be sure to make sure that there are no flammable vapors from the solvent in the cylinder. Otherwise, because of the open flame, it may burst the balloon, which will certainly injure you. To avoid this, fill the cylinder with squeezed water and pour it out. And just before soldering, fill the tank by 80% to reduce the internal volume. Then drain the water through the hole under the nipple is not difficult.

Cool the soldering place with plain water. We assemble the nipple back by twisting the spool in the sleeve.

A securely soldered nipple can withstand sufficient pressure to reuse the balloon. You can immediately check it by pumping air with a regular bicycle pump.

Such a reusable aerosol can can be used, for example, to whisk small debris from the work surface of parts.

You can fill up homemade lubricant and save hundreds of rubles on the purchase of the WD-40. You can fill in the paint and paint. You can pour eau de toilette and use the bottle as a freshener. A lot of applications, go for it.

I tried, the theme does not work. This time is not enough pressure, and secondly there is another reason: in addition to paint, there is liquefied gas-butane in the cylinders. The one that drives cars with HBO. This gas in the first place creates pressure in the cylinder with its vapor, and it is pretty decent. And secondly, when spraying a mixture of paint with butane, the gas instantly boils in air and additionally sprays paint droplets into fine dust.
