Method of lighting coals without lighter fluid

Let's imagine that when going to a barbecue, you, for some reason, did not buy charcoal lighter fluid. It would seem a hopeless situation: you can’t just light coal with matches, there may not be any other firewood in place... But there is a simple and cunning way to light coal using an ordinary newspaper.
The method is quite simple, but you can’t just invent it with your wits - you need to know.

Will need

All you need is nothing:
  • A plastic bottle - for soda, ketchup, or a glass bottle for wine, etc. It will not be damaged, its contents will not even need to be poured out.
  • Newspaper, magazine or any other paper.

Well, I'm not talking about matches and a bag of charcoal.

How to light coals without special lighter fluid

In reality, of course, there is no secret. Take one sheet of newspaper and roll it into a flat roll 3-4 fingers wide.

Then we take the bottle and tie it from the bottom with this paper belt.

We tie the ends in one knot, like shoelaces. You don't need to tighten it too much, just to keep it in place.

Like this:

At the top of this twist we make two more of the same kind.

Next, we put this entire tower in the grill and sprinkle it with coal on the sides.

We fill it completely so that this kind of well is hidden from the sides securely with coal. And carefully remove the bottle.

Well, now let's fire it up! A small piece of paper will be useful for this. Let's light it up.

And we lower the shafts down.

Once the fire gets hot, you can leave small coals inside (although this is not necessary).

As the fire subsides, take a fan and create a wind blower with rhythmic movements.

This will cause the coals to turn very red, after which everything can be mixed so that the burning coals mix with the non-burning ones.
And after a couple of minutes you can put on the barbecue. Everything is as simple as day.
I have been using this method for a long time and do not buy lighter fluid. It seems to me that this works even faster, because it takes a significant amount of time for the liquid itself to burn through before the coals themselves ignite and begin to give off heat. Plus, it’s excellent environmental friendliness, and your kebab will definitely not have any foreign odors or tastes.

the normal way, but I buy a paraffin candle and scrape it onto the coals with a knife and mix it all. And believe me, it turns out great. The paraffin itself does not spoil the taste of the meat and is harmless to the body. (Sorry for the grammar).

No fan or other equipment is needed. Cover a larger bottle with coal, then when the bottle is removed and the paper is burning, put large pieces of coal on top so that they block the “mouth” and more coal on top. That's all. We wait until all the coal burns out; there is no need to stir anything until then. As the hot coals begin to become covered with white ash, stir and start frying.

This method can only be used as a last resort, in the absence of liquid and firewood (it is rare that there is no firewood for barbecue), experienced barbecue makers categorically do not recommend using newspapers and books for ignition, since printing ink is not good for barbecue.

I have been using vegetable oil for a long time! Cheap and safe! I watered it, smoked it, lit it and that’s it!!!

Such a pile of coals (and by creating a mountain around the bottle it is difficult to correctly determine the right amount of coal) and such low walls of the grill, skewers with meat will touch the coals.

I don’t even know why I should torture myself like this?!
I read the comments and didn't see anything original.
I take a bag of coal, put it in the grill and set the bag on fire, period.
Well, wave something if there is no wind.
Why newspapers, oils, adjika, bottles especially.....????

Nowadays, finding newspaper is much more difficult than finding lighter fluid.
