High-quality carpets can last for decades without losing their shape, structure and color. Of course, this requires constant and appropriate care.
Very often, carpets suffer from burns left by an unextinguished cigarette that accidentally fell on the carpet, a lit match that landed there instead of an ashtray, or a coal that flew out of the fireplace insert.
Burn damage is especially noticeable in the form of dark spots on light-colored carpets. Moreover, they usually appear in the most visible places: around the coffee table or in front of the sofa.
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to prevent such damage, as accidents are difficult to control. However, do not be too upset, because there is one effective but simple solution that will help restore the carpet to its original appearance. What should we have at hand for this?
You will need:
- the glue is quick-setting and better water-resistant;
- glue gun;
- a small brush and stick for applying glue;
- scissors large and small;
- wallpaper knife

Treatment of the burn site
Using small scissors, carefully remove burnt or melted carpet fibers without damaging the base of the product.
Preparation of intact villi
They need to be cut off in those places of our carpet that are not visually visible, but have the same color as at the burn site. This could be an area under the sofa, behind furniture, etc. You can use the same small scissors for this.
Restoration of the main mass of villi
First, apply the glue mass from a glue gun to the damaged area and distribute it evenly over the surface using a brush and stick. We take most of the previously cut fibers and press them using the handles of large scissors to the base, covered with glue, holding them motionless for some time to set.
Gluing lint at the burn site
Again, apply a little slightly heated glue and glue the remaining fibers in places where they are less dense, pressing with the handles of scissors. Then leave the treated area alone for a few minutes until the glue completely hardens.
Final finishing of the restored place
All that remains is to use small scissors to carefully trim the glued fibers to the height of the rest.
