Materials:
- metallized crepe paper – green;
- wooden skewer;

Instructions for making a Christmas tree
We cut metallized crepe paper into strips 2-3 cm wide (across the folds of the paper). On each strip we make transverse cuts with scissors, not reaching the edge 2 mm.
We begin to wrap a piece of wire about 10 cm with a paper strip (fringe outward). Secure the tip with a small piece of double-sided tape.
In this way you need to make a spruce branch out of paper. Leave the edge of the wire a few centimeters free.
We make the branches of different lengths: for the top - 3 - 5 cm, for the middle - 5 - 8 cm, the bottom - 10 cm. You can make them bifurcated, this will make the Christmas tree fluffier.
We will assemble the Christmas tree on a wooden skewer. We wrap one end of it with a paper strip for several centimeters. Secure the paper with double-sided tape. At this point we begin to wrap short spruce branches with the free wire ends.
Gradually add longer branches.
To hide the wire and wooden skewer, cut a thin (0.5 cm) strip of green crepe paper. We wrap it around the skewer. We start from the top of the head, gradually descending to the base of the trunk.
Insert a circle of foam into a small plastic pot. Cut it to the size of the top edge of the pot. To make the Christmas tree stable, you can put a load inside (stones, sand, salt).
We insert the free edge of the skewer on which the Christmas tree is held into the center of the foam circle. The skewer may need to be shortened a little.
We straighten the Christmas tree branches and paper “needles”.
We cover the foam with tinsel. You can decorate your Christmas tree using small Christmas balls and “rain”.
Creating such a Christmas tree takes a lot of time. But the process is quite simple. You can involve a child in the work. He will probably like this idea. And then the Christmas tree can be taken to the New Year's school exhibition.
