Nut for protection against jamming of the disc in the grinder

During the operation of the grinder, the clamping nut that holds the disk can be tightened so much that it is simply impossible to unscrew it with a standard key. The antennae can be pulled out in it, it can bend, and also there are frequent cases of breakage of the gear lock button.

Movable washer nut

The easiest way to deal with jamming is using a special nut with a movable washer pressed onto it. The use of such a clamp eliminates its adhesion to the disk.

To combat the lock, I used to use a makeshift gasket made of paper or rubber, laying it between the disk and the nut. This is a very effective method, but over time, the gaskets are compacted, so jamming still occurs. The disadvantage of this solution is the increase in routine with rearranging disks. Periodically, the gasket stick to it, so you need to tinker with it in order to remove it and rearrange it.
A nut with a rotating washer, in my opinion, is the most effective solution to prevent sticking to the disk. It is cheap, while its use will save a lot of brittle metal disks, which, when jammed, had to be broken before to free the shaft.

The nut variant that fell into my hands has a embossed washer with an extruded bottom. This allows, due to the reduction in the area of contact, to increase the pressure with which the disk is pressed.
Using such a clamp, it is possible to eliminate damage to the tool when the disc is released by striking or turning the sprout of the gearbox shaft. This is especially important if the angle grinder is under warranty, therefore mechanical damage on its surface is undesirable.

When I bought my Fiolent-2kW grinder, which is designed for work in production. So, there is a sticker on the disk casing. "Install the disk with a material sleeve to the gearbox. That's what I always do

Ruslan, I have the same Bulgarian Fiolent, that's really done for the Russians! I work in the tool service and have already got sick of explaining to everyone HOW TO INSTALL THE DISK ON THE BULGARIAN CORRECTLY. 95% sets the "picture" out (usually a metal ring from the side of the picture). And you know what they argue with? So that you can see the marking of the disk without removing it from the grinder :))))). If the disk is installed correctly, then jamming is almost impossible. And then no master classes on how to unscrew the disk are needed!

The Russian people are very curious and they usually have a lot of time. Therefore, they come up with all sorts of gaskets made of cardboard, plastic bottles, instead of just putting the disc right right away.
