Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

Hi all! We will talk about how to make a completely mechanical converter from 12 V DC to 220 V AC. The converter power is 50 W, the output signal shape is pure sine. In fact, the entire installation consists of an electric motor and a mini generator.

Will need

Making a converter yourself

We take the 775 series engine. It has a 12V supply and consumes up to 7.5A
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We take the pulley.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We put the pulley on the engine and tighten it with the special wrench included in the kit.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We put the pulley on the mini electric generator.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

A wooden plank will be used as the base of the transducer.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We place the engine and generator on it parallel to each other.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We put on the belt and note the distance that needs to be maintained between the generator and the motor in order for the belt to be tensioned.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We fix the engine with metal brackets. Holes for self-tapping screws were previously made in the board.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We fix the generator and put the belt on the pulleys.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We screw the socket. There are three wires coming out of the generator. We connect any two to the block, one will not be used.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

Install the battery.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We connect to the engine via a switch.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

We glue the switch itself to the battery with hot glue.

Tests

Turn on the device. The noise of the engine is heard.
Although the brushless generator produces a total power of 50 W, this is enough to light a 40 W lamp in one phase.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

It can handle an LED lamp just fine.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

You can charge your phone without difficulty.
Mechanical converter 12 - 220 V

The big advantage of this design is that the converter produces a three-phase voltage with a frequency of approximately 50 Hz with an absolutely pure sine wave. Perhaps this may be useful to you somewhere.

you also need to install a 12 volt converter, then the battery will be charged

This arrangement of the generator and the engine is generally called parallel

Poor efficiency. Engines can be directly connected
    And still poor efficiency.

Belt drive - very COMPLETE - in case of any VARIATIONS - different PAIR - engine-generator, or...
This is a very common model, and even in production a similar SCHEME works. And it is applied. Despite the low efficiency - about 60-65%

I wonder what the efficiency is

The efficiency is very low. For small engines, the efficiency does not exceed 70%. There are TWO of them. Plus the losses on the belt drive are 3-5% (if it is well tensioned and fresh, and if it is weak and stretched, then all of 10-15%). It is also worth considering the power theorem. The best result is when the generator power matches the consumer power and the generator load level is 50% (therefore, real turbines are always loaded at 30-40%).Judging by the size of the engine - one comrade in the comments - openly whistled about 500 W. At best 15-20 W.

Brother Anon- smile well, you got to the bottom of AUTHOR7, his idea is normal. Well, really, it’s not very efficient. I’M A MY OWN MODEL. - and I want to share my joy. I did NOT invent the Nuclear Power Plant.....Or..?? What ?

this principle is very widely used when you need to “get rid” of network interference and interference

Judging by the fact that the person is holding the light bulb with his hand, the power is low.
But the meaning of the device is not clear. It’s easier to charge your phone using a car battery charger and use a 12-volt LED light bulb.

It is clear. But... there is one "but". Our country is powerful to the point of darkness, isn’t it? What's going on in this greatness, huh? That's the same... Well, how about tomorrow, just for a day or two, the lithicity will disappear? Well, or something else? Assembling converters is too wise, but this... well, unless a complete idiot can handle it. Well, what's wrong? As easy as pie. It lies on the surface, but not everyone was able to figure it out. No, well, if you are an oligarch or a relative of one, then of course... What am I doing? I'm nothing. And so... please!

Please note that this homemade product is from a foreigner))
Almost every person has a car; the battery can be borrowed temporarily. Get power from a screwdriver. I bought myself a power bank with a flashlight for 1000 rubles and a capacity of 4 Ah.

What capacity do you need to have a battery to use it for 2 days? Isn't it better to connect LEDs to the battery?

You keep laughing, but in vain. MGTS installed my router for me just now, and it works on 220 Volts. What if there is war, God forbid! The power plant was bombed! Then you can’t call anyone (the phone is connected through this router) or go on the Internet to see who’s beating whom, in general it’s a complete mess. And here - the motors are spinning, the 220V electricity is moving, and you are sitting, smoking and chatting on the phone or looking at naked girls on the Internet...
