With the help of such a simple device, you can conveniently weld a metal profile at any angle. As a result, work will be easier and the quality of welding will improve. I think you should spend two dozen minutes and make yourself a little thing that will save you time and effort in the future.
Materials needed
- A piece of steel plate, approximately 30-50 mm wide and 2-5 mm thick.
- A piece of steel plate, approximately 10-30 mm wide and 2-5 mm thick.
- A piece of corner profile.
- Two nuts M4-M8.
- Long stud for nuts.
- A short bolt with a nut of the “Cheburashka” type.
Making a fixture for profile welding
We take a thick plate.
From it we cut out two pieces 140 mm long. We mark along the line.
We cut it with a grinder and sand the sharp edges.
We combine the segments together and drill a hole for the bolt in both.
We insert a bolt into the holes, securing it with a Cheburashka. Using a ruler, set a right angle and tighten with a Cheburashka.
We mark a straight line along the ruler. It is necessary to make such a cut so that the segments, being at right angles, are parallel with their ends to each other and are in the same plane.Cut carefully with a grinder.
This is how it should turn out in the end: the angle is straight, and the legs are on the same line.
We attach the corner profile.
We weld using arc welding.
Approximately setting aside a distance of 90 mm on each side, we draw strips.

Cut off the middle with a grinder.
Now we take narrow pieces of steel plate.
We clamp it in a vice and bend it into an “G” shape with hammer blows.
Now we weld it to each side of the future device.
Next, we weld nuts to the bent ends.
We screw a cut hairpin into each nut, with a Cheburashka welded on the end. This kind of clamping mechanism was created on each side.
The device is ready!
Due to the fact that it bends in any direction, you can choose absolutely any welding angle, both blunt and sharp.
We fix the rectangular profile at a right angle.
And if you need to weld pipes evenly, then nothing could be easier. Everything will be fixed precisely and there will be no movement or shaking when welding.
