I want to share with you my example of how I made a simple keyboard backlight for my favorite computer. This backlight does not shine in the eyes and has electronic brightness control of the glow. It can be connected both to the power supply unit of the computer itself and to the bleach power adapter.

Keyboard backlighting

The brightness adjustment circuit is simple and does not contain scarce parts.

This is a regular analogue knob.

What do we need

IRF840 transistor (you can take a bipolar).
22K resistor - 2 pcs.
240K resistor.
100K variable resistor.
1-10 microfarad capacitor at 25 V.
LED strip white light, approximately 35 cm.
A piece of thin aluminum profile.
Steel wire.
Wires.

Putting together a circuit

Everything is assembled without a board by mounting. If you want, you can do everything on the board.
Next, glue the transistor to the radiator with a special heat-conducting adhesive or fasten it classically.

Check the assembled circuit in operation. If everything is infinitely adjustable, that’s good.

We install an aluminum profile above the keyboard, on a steel wire, and glue it in any convenient place. For solidity, the steel wire is dressed in black heat shrink.
We glue the regulator with hot glue to any place you need.

Now the eyes are straining less and in the dark it has become much more comfortable to work.

Hello.
I just hung (screwed) a spot-mounted LED lamp (1 watt, warm light, 220v) eighty centimeters from the keyboard) on the cabinet (I have a cabinet - the side wall of the desktop, you have a solid one, judging by the wallpaper on the photo :-).
Any interludes on the desktop will still lead to minimization. The habit of an old typewriter does not mean that you should change the angle of inclination of the keyboard (which I just did not invent!)
To use hot-melt adhesive for fixing something is a bad tone (it is permissible for a quick layout).
Piano in the bushes. Show the layman who has a field effect transistor in the bushes ... :-).
Do you have horseradish solder? Why wrap the wires on the legs ?! I understand that there is no third hand ... I always use small vise.

Hello!
I made it easier (the keyboard on my computer desk is on a pull-out shelf) - I glued several SMD LEDs to the bottom of the countertop. I use an unnecessary 12-volt power supply from an old phone as a power source. Its power is sufficient not only for keyboard backlighting, but also for decorative lighting of the entire computer table.

Hello. And I made it even easier. I took a finished lighter with an LED.Now many people use it as a lighter for gas camphor instead of matches or unreliable electric lighters. He took off its filling and adapted it as a backlight. The main backlight does not bother anyone from sleeping. To whom it is convenient. To adjust the light visor above it. And if you want to do something worthwhile thoroughly, then set the LED on the end of the plastic stick of circular cross section, it is desirable to make its surface matte.
