I would say that quite often such wires and parts come across that practically do not flatter with ordinary rosin, even in an alcohol solution. And the point is not in the oxide film that formed during the long storage period, but rather in the specific coating of the part or wire.
Ordinary pinkish-looking copper wires tear without problems, even after long periods of storage.

But there are also wires whose veins have a brilliant, beige color. And here they are practically not crowded. To manage to tear them, you need to very persistently shuffle them with a heated soldering iron. As a result, it is more likely that the main braid of the wire will melt, which in most cases happens.

Solder practically does not stick.

As for the Chinese connectors, such as "tulip" and others, then the same story. You cannot just take a connector and tin it. Before this, you need to grind the place of soldering with a file to remove the shiny coating. And only then can you solder the wire to this connector.
I think that many of you have experienced this problem. Of course, some expensive flux can surely solve this problem. And if one is not at hand? And if he is not even in the store? You will be helped out by a folk super remedy - citric acid.

Which is in almost every house in the kitchen and in any grocery in the store you can buy it if that.
Soldering wires requires only a few pellets. We pour it out, take a little solder with a soldering iron. We put the wire on these granules of citric acid and tin the wire with a soldering iron, as with rosin.

Same thing with the connector.

I was personally surprised by such a simple secret of soldering "difficult" connectors. Everything is soldered like clockwork, without a hitch.

Fluid flux

Liquid flux can also be made from citric acid. To do this, mix it with ordinary water in a 1: 1 ratio and pour it into any tube (for example, drops from a cold). And you will just have a flux that is always useful to you.
I will be very grateful if you share your secrets or homemade soldering compounds in the comments.

For these purposes, we, in due time, used the ASPIRIN tablet (acetyl salicylic acid). The advantage is that it does not crumble, so you do not need to catch crystals with a wire, just put the wire and ludi on the tablet. Thanks for the advice. Good luck

My friend, in Soviet amateur radio equipment, nichrome wires are perfectly soldered with a lemon (for example, for New Year’s ignitors of pyrotechnics during remote start-up) and an aspirin tablet (varnish flies to URA) is perfectly suitable for soldering wires, ammonia, stainless steel copes well with oxides to remove oxides (but with it more accurately - over time, it eats metal to zero in salt (but this concerns copper and non-honey anyway)

Liquid for electronic cigarettes copes very well, or rather glycerin and propylene glycol, which are in its composition.

A very old way is tinning on an aspirin tablet. In any case, an extract is desirable - fumes are harmful to breathing.

A piece of rosin or rosin in a jar becomes contaminated over time, slagged, in short - not comme il faut. And to put on the board or on some part that doesn’t fit into the jar - in general, extinguish the light! The solution is simple: rosin crumbles into powder - it is very easy, in a bubble-dropper or bubble_s_brush (from varnish) mixes with water and ... Voila! Rosin water solution !!! Consumption is deadly small, for a half-hour you can smear one drop in which at least 1/4 is rosin, a dozen square centimeters, or even more. To contacts, wires, etc. it is applied very easily. Option - a solution of rosin in alcohol. Plus - less heat of evaporation of the solvent, minus - dries very quickly in air, more flammable.

Hello to all! Good tip about citric acid is great! And I use "my" way - ASPIRINE, acetylsalicylic acid. To use it is as simple as rosin, put the wire to the tablet and its soldering iron, soldering iron ... It’s a specific smell, though)).

It is very convenient to tin with a slightly overheated soldering iron, on a piece of ordinary vinyl insulation from electrical wires or the same "cambric". The same applies to winding wires. Luda without cleansing of enamel.

I read in the old Radio magazine about another way. Instead of taking aspirin, take a tablet of hydropyrite (dry hydrogen peroxide), it is also used to lighten hair. I tried it myself - it WORKS and there is practically no smell.

An interesting option with citric acid, on request, I can add that aluminum can be successfully soldered using an aspirin tablet instead of flux.

Everything is flushed and soldered using phosphoric acid, which, if you often solder it, simply needs to be available at home.

I was friends with one grandfather, a graduate of the first issues of vocational schools. They were taught many tricks. Once he suggested that instead of soldering acid, you can rub a place that needs to be irradiated with ordinary garlic, a fresh cut. I tried, it turns out quite normal.

I didn’t know about the lemon. Thank. Liquid flux can be obtained from rosin with alcohol. Alcohol should be 96%, otherwise it does not dissolve well.

Good evening. a very long time ago, in Soviet times, there was such a magazine "Radio". So there were a lot of useful tips about soldering in it, I still remember it and still use it, especially when I need to solder steel products. This is ordinary aspirin, now it is called acetylsalicylic acid, it solders amazingly, the only inconvenience is to accidentally sniff its smoke, not deadly, but very ticklish in the nose.

I tried to tin wires with some kind of coating similar to zinc. I also advised ASPIRIN.
After 5 minutes of work, she almost died, but she was irradiated.
For lemon and garlic - thanks, I'll try!
