I got a nice red toy squirrel from an old women's shirt and a hat on red fur:
In order to sew this little squirrel, we needed: fabric from an old women's shirt, a pattern (sample) for sewing, a needle and thread, safety pins, fabric on red fur, as well as beads and beads of brown color, reliable glue, filler ( cotton wool) and a small decorative ornament in the form of a red flower.
Take a paper template:
This template needs to be divided into separate parts. According to their shape, we will need to make fabric parts for sewing with a small (from 0.5 cm.) Indent (allowance).
First, I decided to take on the sewing of the head and body, and for this I took a simple synthetic fabric in cherry color:
In order not to stitch the two details of the squirrel's ears into one, inside of them you need to insert an additional piece of fabric, cut out according to their shape, and then sew it:
There was no whole fabric for composing the tail, and I have to assemble it from six small pieces. The paper sample of the tail will need to be divided into three parts (along the length of the pieces of fabric):
From the fur fabric of red color, I cut three pairs (six in total) of details for tailing:
Now I decided to make the details of the body from satin fabric, which was the collar of the old shirt. This fabric is brighter, smoother and will look prettier:
Just as in the first version of sewing, I am doing here an inner part for the ears:
Next, we sew into one two parts of the tail, made of six separate. Then we sew two parts of the body on the wrong side of the fabric, in this way:
Twist the torso crafts from the inside and fill it with cotton, after which we sew the details of the tail and fill them with cotton.
To make a decoration for the squirrel's neck, it is enough to take a narrow and rectangular (from 8 to 10 cm.) Piece of fabric. This piece must be folded into a tube and a seam made on it, then sew it over the edges, forming a circle. The resulting "circle" must be put on the neck of the craft and hem it to it. Sew it in such a way that the section with the seam is at the back or in front, but not from the side:
Next, I pick up beads that would be useful as eyes and nose for crafts. I chose a large brown bead as the nose and two large rhombic beads as the eyes. To make ear brushes, you need to cut four round details and two small rectangular ones from red fabric on fur in pairs. Four round parts need to be glued in pairs. Sew tail:
To attach the ear brushes, reliable glue is enough, and the cut off tips of the ears need to be removed inside. With rectangular details we glue the ends in a circle and glue circles inside them, after which we sew the eyes and nose:
If desired, the front can additionally decorate the craft with some decorative element. For example, you can stick a small rose to it:
After that, everything, our toy squirrel will be ready:
