Gray bird

From old and unnecessary clothes you can make a good decoration for your home or car with your own hands, for example, a keychain or a toy. I made a nice gray sparkling toy bird from old tights. To make it, I needed one week of time and the necessary materials and tools, such as:
  • - Cardboard and pencil for drawing up a sample;
  • - Scissors, sewing needle;
  • - Gray fabric from tights;
  • - Black threads;
  • - Glue;
  • - Needles for stabbing;
  • - Translucent sparkling plastic sheet;
  • - White varnish;
  • - Filler (cotton wool);
  • - Medium-sized brown beads;
  • - Cardboard and varnish for making up the beak;
  • - A piece of orange fabric for the foot.

First you need to select a template for making a toy. The template can be easily found on the Internet; I decided to make a sample of the torso first:

Next, I take a gray fabric and fold it twice, after which I pin a cardboard sample to it, and cut it out with an indent for an allowance (from 0.5 cm).
From another piece of cardboard you need to make a beak part and paint it with varnish.You can get nail polish here:

After this, you need to take a translucent plastic sheet and cut feather parts and thin strips from it in order to make wings from them:

Next, I make seams on the fabric according to the shape of the sample. I put the beak part inside and sew it on:

Now from the cut plastic strips I glue together six parts for the wings and the same number of parts for the tail using tape. I fold the strips in half and cut off the excess sections:

We need to turn the body part inside out and sew the eyes to it. For eyes, you can take medium-sized brown beads:

Next, I glue the wings and tail to the body of the toy. The wing parts, consisting of three plastic feathers, I supplement with three more.

This is what my almost finished toy looks like:

Next, I glued the details of long white feathers to the tail so that the tail does not seem too short, and I decided to cover the wings and tail with cotton wool:

Now I take orange viscose fabric and cut out one piece of the paw from it:

I sew it on the outside with a blanket stitch, filling the inner space with cotton wool:

Next, in order for the finished toy to be hung by a nail in any of the rooms or in a car, you can sew, for example, a piece of thin ribbon to it. I choose silver floss with a white bead for sewing:

I sew this thread to the craft:

Now our toy gray bird is ready:
