» »Chest - a needle box made of matchboxes
Needles are constantly lost? Beads scattered throughout the apartment? Can't find the beads? And buttons somewhere stocked? There is an exit! Let's make a miniature chest of drawers - a needle bar for small things. Despite the large list of what we need, a miniature chest of drawers is easy and simple.

To create a dresser - a needle bed, we need:
  • - 6 empty matchboxes;
  • - scissors;
  • - masking tape;
  • - gouache or acrylic paint of white and red color (or only pink);
  • - glue gun;
  • - glue stick;
  • - thick cardboard;
  • - scrapbook paper;
  • - beads;
  • - brush and sponge;
  • - synthetic winterizer;
  • - a pencil;
  • - a small piece of fabric.

Step 1. We take 6 matchboxes. With glue - a pencil we glue them together for 2 boxes, total should be 3 rows.

Step 2. For reliability, we fasten the boxes with masking tape (ordinary tape will not work, because later we will paint). From my own experience, I want to give advice: it is better to pull out the sliding parts from the box before gluing with masking tape, otherwise it will be difficult to remove them later.

Step 3. We begin to paint the chest of drawers. We mix white and red acrylic paint to get a soft pink shade. Paint with a sponge with patting movements. This method is faster and, thanks to masking tape, the paint lays more evenly. We paint the entire chest of drawers from all sides, except for the sliding parts.

Step 4. From the scrapbook paper, cut 2 rectangles 4 cm long and 3 cm wide. Next, cut 6 rectangles 3.5 cm long and 1 cm wide.

Step 5. Glue the blanks from scrapbook paper to the chest of drawers. Glue 1 rectangle on each drawer, in the same way we glue large rectangles on the sides of the chest of drawers.

Step 6. From a thick cardboard we cut a rectangle 6.5 cm long and 4 cm wide. Then we take a synthetic winterizer and glue it on the cut rectangle. The synthetic winterizer, which went beyond the edges of the cardboard, is cut off.

Step 7. From the fabric we cut a small rectangle 10 cm long and 7 cm wide. Using a glue gun, glue a cardboard with padding polyester to the fabric.

Step 8. Here we have such a pillow! It will be a needle bar. Glue it on top of the dresser with a glue gun. Next, on the drawers of the chest of drawers we glue handles - beads. They can be either one or different colors.

    In childhood, from matchboxes, I made not only dressers, but also another furniture. Used it to play with small dolls, dolls. A good idea to adapt to the needle bar and the little things!
