Real needlewomen never throw anything away. All kinds of packing boxes, jars, ropes, ribbons, empty ampoules from the handle, scraps of wallpaper and even candy wrappers from under the sweets ... everything is neatly folded in a designated place. Sooner or later, for each seemingly unnecessary thing is an application. To give something a second wind, it is enough just to conduct an audit of the accumulated “treasures” and fantasize a little.

Take at least bobbins from scotch tape. If there are a lot of them (five or more pieces), then they can become the basis for creating a beautiful vase with a pattern of paper napkins. The materials are the most ordinary, and the result is simply amazing!
For the manufacture of crafts You need to collect the following materials and tools:
  • 5 reels of tape;
  • a skein of paper napkins;
  • tube with PVA glue;
  • a piece of cardboard of high density;
  • scissors;
  • brown gouache;
  • a brush;
  • golden acrylic paint;
  • a piece of foam.

Now is the time to make the bottom of the vase. To do this, draw a circle on a piece of thick cardboard: put the resulting structure on it and circle it around the outer edge.

Now the design needs to be pasted over with paper napkins. They will create a texture and hide the joints of bobbins from tape.

Next, proceed with drawing a relief pattern. It is convenient to make from flagella twisted from paper napkins.

Then make smaller parts: spirals, weaves or some interesting shapes. Apply glue to the base, apply paper parts and press well with your fingers. If they come off, then you have to hold it a little longer with your hands.
Paper balls glued in a symmetrical order on each segment of our vase will serve as additional elements.

When the pattern of paper flagella adheres well, and the glue used is completely dry, the craft can be painted. Cover it with two layers of brown gouache. Wait for the paint to dry.

Advice:
  • - if you do not have bobbins from scotch tape, take a piece of plastic pipe of a suitable diameter;
  • - instead of paper flagella for forming an ornament, you can use a linen tow or thread for knitting;
  • - you can glue the bobbins with a plain fabric, bright wrapping paper or ordinary burlap;
  • - instead of brown gouache, use black, then the gold paint will look even more contrast;
  • - Tell the children that the vase is intended exclusively for artificial flowers; water cannot be poured into it.

    Wow! So you can still make low glasses for pencils, felt-tip pens and pens. They did it with the child, now the daughter on the table is always in order. Thanks for the original idea!

    I absolutely agree that one cannot even throw away seemingly unnecessary things or leftovers from them. And as far as possible I try to collect waste material for needlework, although I’m still far from the bobbins from scotch tape! But in vain, because the result is a complete sight for sore eyes, I already want to make the same vase.
