Who doesn't love dogs? These curious, cute creatures leave few people indifferent. They captivate with their simplicity and devotion. A puppy in the house is always a joy. Every owner strives to immortalize the image of their pet in a photo or video. However, there are other options, for example, a brooch with a picture of a pet. To make a “Dog” brooch from wool using the dry felting technique we will need:
- The wool is white and black.
- Glue moment.
- Eyes made of plastic.
- Braid.
- Brooch clasp.
- Oil pastel pencils.
- Felting needle size 40.
So, in order to make a puppy’s head, take white wool and make an oval out of it in the shape of a pear. You should not immediately compact the product to a “stone” state; even if it is still loose, you can compact the craft later. Try to make the nose and cheek area convex.
Next, after some compaction, we will begin to make indentations for the eyes. We glue the eyes into them with instant glue.
Using a needle, draw a line for the mouth in the middle, between the cheeks. Do not forget that the cheeks must remain convex evenly on both sides so that the product is voluminous.
After this, use a piece of black wool to decorate the dog’s nose and lips. Place a longitudinal strip in the middle of the nose.
Next, use a cloud of black wool to make a spot around the eye. Press firmly to the muzzle. Here's how it happened.
From the bottom of the cheeks, use a needle to draw characteristic folds as in the photo. Deepen the folds along the edges of the cheeks. The chin should not protrude above the cheeks; on the contrary, it seems to be peeking out from under the cheeks.
For a more natural look, make the upper eyelids above the eyes. They need to be felted separately on foam rubber, and then felted along the edge of the eye.
Now we will make ears for our spotted friend. They will be white with spots of black wool. First we make the ears, and then we put spots on them. Seal your ears thoroughly.
Apply the shades to the puppy's face with a brush. Use oil pastels in black and beige. Shade the folds black, and the eyelids and the center of the ears beige.
Decorate your puppy with a white and black butterfly bow.
We can sew a butterfly to the dog’s chin with thread. Place the knot in the middle of the head on the back side, to the place that will be closed by the clasp of the brooch. Glue the round brooch clasp on the back side with glue.
The work on the wool dog brooch is finished!
