Padded stool mat

Sometimes you can make practical and useful things from completely waste material that is sent for removal and disposal that will be useful to you at home.

For example, the accumulated deposits of failed women's tights and balls of not the most beautiful yarn, the remains of projects or the dissolution of old things. All this, as a rule, lies without application, or simply goes to waste. But by turning on some imagination, you can get the right thing, for example, a soft rug-seat for a stool or other attribute of the hallway, balcony, staircase.

We will prepare thick yarn or knitted threads from the residues, which we wind in large balls, tights that will never be worn (old children's tights and knitwear cut into strips are quite suitable for this, but stockings are preferable, since there is no cut edge, and means garbage from cut threads) and a crochet hook of at least N 5.
You can knit a circular rug or square.

Old tights are subject to execution. Cut off the legs from the top. This will look like blanks for the bulk of the rug. We start knitting with a pair of yarn loops. Then we put tights in the knit and begin to tie it.

After making 5-7 loops, loop the chain, and then do everything knitting columns without a cape. We knit in a circle, braiding a stocking, and do not forget to add loops evenly as you tie, to get an even and dense "pancake".

When one stocking ends, the next one is carefully “built in” into the previous one and we tightly grab it with the working thread. In the finished product, the junction is completely invisible.
Since the loops are large, then knit such a mat-seat pretty quickly.

The last 1-2 rows can be done without putting a stocking, so that the round seat has a smooth edge.

The mat turns out to be rather plump and resiliently soft, comfortable for sitting. If necessary, it can be fixed on a stool using a cord or braid, tied to the legs. If you use not the remains of yarn, but pick up bright threads by colors, then the rugs will come out elegant and even with a thematic pattern, so again there is a field for handmade imagination.

My grandmother knitted such rugs, all the stools she had made with them, sitting was soft and comfortable. Grandmother has long been gone, and we still use her rugs in the country. I’ll also try to connect, otherwise there are very few integers left.
