Garage for cars made from bushings

Undoubtedly, children are a great blessing! But sometimes this happiness asks you to buy him a lot of things at once, especially on the eve of the holidays. And recently, my eldest four-year-old son, having first seen a Hot Wheels advertisement on TV, and then the set itself in the store, begs us to buy it. This very desirable set is a garage for small cars with slides and it costs almost 13,000 rubles. For our family, the amount is not small, and after thinking a little, I decided to build my son something like a garage from scrap materials available at home.
For this we need:

• shoe box, preferably for children;
  
• toilet paper rolls;
  
• colored paper;
  
• PVA glue;
  
• compass or 2 glasses of different diameters;
  
• Ruler and pencil;
  
• stickers or cards for decoration.

We take a box from children's shoes, but this is not important, you can use any other box, it’s just that the lid on the box is conveniently closed from children’s shoes and serves as a garage door.

Next, we take toilet paper rolls, which we prudently collected for several months. But you can make them yourself from thick cardboard.

And we insert the bushings in a checkerboard pattern into the open shoe box. In our box there were five rows of four bushings each. Total 20 places for cars.

To prevent the bushings from falling out, you can fasten them together with glue, but this is not necessary.
Tip: To prevent the cars from rolling, there must be free space at the bottom of the garage, that is, the length of the cardboard sleeves should be less than the width of the box. Now let's decorate our future garage for cars a little. We bought felt boots for our son in our shoe box, and as you can see in the photographs, it is already bright and beautiful, but it wouldn’t hurt to decorate it a little. Moreover, the next New Year is coming soon and we all know that its symbol is the Rooster. Therefore, after searching a little in my collection of postcards, I found a postcard with roosters given to me by a friend 12 years ago. We will use it to decorate the garage.

There are Chinese characters on the box, which we will glue with PVA glue with cockerels cut out from a postcard.

And paste the phrase “Happy New Year!” We got such a beautiful garage door.

Then we will make two helipads on top of the box. Because in addition to small cars, my son also has small airplanes.
To do this, take glasses or mugs of different diameters and, with a pencil on the back of yellow colored paper, draw small circles within large circles. You can draw with a compass, whichever is more convenient for you.

And in these circles we draw a large letter N. And carefully cut it out with scissors.

Next, we cut out a rectangle from blue colored paper to the size of the top of our garage for cars. And first we glue it, and then our yellow circles and letters on top, as shown in the next photo.


My son has a lot of small cars, both from Kinder surprise eggs, and from sets, and just given as gifts. These are just the first ones that caught our eye.

Well, now the fun part – we’re starting to fill our garage. To play, you can put a small barrier and a gas station at its entrance. In general, we have this kind of garage for small cars with helipads.

The child was simply happy when he saw him and began to play with him. My son told me that I should definitely make him another garage like this, otherwise many cars won’t fit, and they shouldn’t sleep on the street. Love and make your children happy, because sometimes you don’t have to have a lot of money to make them happy.
