Fleece cockerel

2016 is coming to an end. Although it was quite difficult for many, because they had to overcome a lot of difficulties and changes, the New Year is always a joyful and long-awaited event, because there will definitely be changes, and they will definitely be for the better, because it doesn’t always happen that it’s difficult. Joys always follow difficulties, but the cockerel will make us work too. After all, a cockerel, unlike a monkey, is a very serious and hardworking animal. The cockerel is used to working from early morning until evening, but the monkey, the symbol of 2016, is a rather cheerful and mischievous animal that can misbehave, and then the consequences of all this are quite serious. But we survived, lived through 2016, and now we need to celebrate the New Year 2017, the year of the cockerel, with dignity. This animal must be present on New Year's holiday and decorate your home. And to make it truly very interesting, you can sew a soft cockerel on the Christmas tree with your own hands.

Let's start right now and to sew a cockerel we need to take:
• Bright yellow fleece;
• Red hard felt;
• Cockerel diagram;
• A pair of shifting eyes;
• Bright pink satin ribbon, not wide;
• Golden bell;
• Chameleon and turquoise rhinestones for jewelry 5 and 6 mm;
• Holofiber for filling;
• White thread and needle.


According to this pattern, we can clearly see how many and what elements we need to cut out of the fabric. First, we cut out the details of our cockerel template. It includes: two torsos, two bellies, two heads made of yellow felt, a pair for the beak, a pair for the tail and crest, as well as two pairs of legs and wings.


We lay out the yellow fleece and use the templates to trace the parts in yellow only. We cut out the remaining parts from red felt.

Now we begin to sew all the parts together in pairs and fill them lightly with filler.


We get three yellow elements and seven red elements.


Now we need to lay out all the details of our cockerel in front of us and assemble it into a single whole. We put the parts on top of each other and glue them with a glue gun. We tie a bow with a bell, as well as a strip of ribbon for a loop so that you can hang the cockerel on the Christmas tree.
