Envelopes-cards for birthday

There are quite a few ways to not only congratulate a person on his birthday, but also to really surprise and delight him. So that this holiday, his birthday, would not be just another tick for him and a year would be added to his life, but it would actually turn out to be the most unforgettable day of the year. Some people prefer to make surprises in the form of trips abroad, some prefer to take a person to some restaurant, but most of us love the company of guests and relatives who shower the birthday person with gifts, flowers and wishes on this day. We don’t need to walk around for a long time, but still, mostly at such events it is customary to give money, so you need to be the most creative among the guests, and give money in a dignified and beautiful way. To do this, we can use a handmade postcard envelope, which we will now learn how to make.
To make two postcard envelopes we take:
• Thick leather-look cardboard, two sheets in A4 format, burgundy-red and purple;
• Cutting from the same color cardboard: two napkins, two butterflies. And also two pairs of green petals;
• Two pictures with floral print;
• Paper for scrapbooking, two colors, sheets 30 by 30 cm;
• Ribbons with prompons, purple and red;
• Red fabric ribbon with roses;
• Paper roses lilac, green, mint and white;
• Pink and lilac satin ribbons 15 mm and 25 mm wide;
• Curb hole punch;
• Two inscriptions “Happy Birthday”;
• Sheets of white Whatman paper;
• Half pearl beads;
• Glue gun, glue pencil, double-sided tape;
• Pencil, scissors, lighter, ruler.



We place a sheet of burgundy thick cardboard on the mock-up mat and measure the width of 10.5 cm, 10.5 cm and 5 cm for the pocket. The height of the envelope is 19 cm. We cut off the excess.


We draw the bend lines and first lay out the base.


We also do everything on purple cardboard.


From each sheet of scrap paper we cut out two rectangles 10 by 18.5 cm, and one 4.5 by 18.5 cm.


You need to glue a ribbon to the bases so that the envelope is tied with a bow. We cut and glue strips of ribbon in the center, as in the photo. The edges of the ribbons are thoroughly treated with fire.


We immediately glue small blanks, as well as the back ones, to the bases, and then sew them together.


We decorate the two front rectangles with napkins, inscriptions, and a picture.


We sew the elements on the blanks. We glue both parts to the front sides of the envelopes.


We sew both cards on the front. We tie the envelopes with a bow. Now we prepare the decorations and glue them onto our cards. We make a ruffle from lace and glue it, leaves and ribbons form a bouquet. In general, further decoration is to your taste.
