Today, creating topiaries - trees in pots made from scrap materials - has become a very fashionable hobby among needlewomen.
Topiary can be made from anything, but craftswomen are especially fond of ribbons, coffee beans, and corrugated paper, used as decoration for the crown of a tree.
Chestnut is considered one of the most common natural materials for making crafts. You can also use chestnuts to create topiary.
In order to make a topiary from chestnuts, you will need:
• old newspapers,
• twine,
• scissors,
• Super glue,
• double sided tape,
• gypsum,
• flower pot or any similar container,
• chestnuts and a thick branch,
• felt,
• corrugated paper, satin and paper ribbons for decoration.

To make a base ball, you need to crumple up old newspapers and, giving them a round shape, tighten them tightly with twine, thereby fixing the figure. Of course, you can purchase a special foam ball at the store for making such crafts, but using unnecessary newspapers is very economical.
Make a small hole in the resulting ball and, filling it with superglue, insert a branch inside. Wrap the stick itself with twine, after lubricating the twig with glue.

Take a flower pot or any other container and mix plaster in it, diluting it with a small amount of water. If desired, the pot can be decorated with ribbons and a bow.
When the plaster begins to harden a little, place the topiary base in the pot and wait until the alabaster mixture dries completely. Cut a circle out of felt equal to the diameter of the pot and place it on top, using it to hide defects in the dried plaster.

Then you can start gluing the chestnuts to the ball. To make them stick better, use not only glue, but also double-sided tape. Try to fix the chestnuts as close to each other as possible so that there is no free space. When finished, fill the gaps between the chestnuts with leaves cut from corrugated paper.

Make several small bows from a thin satin ribbon and decorate the tree crown and trunk with them. The chestnut topiary is ready. It would not be a shame to give such a craft as a gift to family and friends or use it to decorate the interior.
