Today crafts made from pompoms are very popular among both experienced needlewomen and beginners. You can make any character out of these balls, the main thing is to show a little imagination and patience.
To make a chicken from pompoms you will need:
- yellow wool threads,
- scissors,
- sheet of thick cardboard,
- needle with thread,
- some red yarn
- eyes,
- satin ribbons for decoration.
1. To begin, take a sheet of cardboard and, using a compass or by hand, draw two pairs of circles, where one is slightly smaller than the second. Cut out all four shapes and use scissors to make holes inside. Connect the resulting rings in pairs.
2. Unwind a long thread from the ball and, bending it several times, wrap it in a couple of large rings. Continue winding the thread until the hole in the middle is barely visible. Do the same with small rings.
3.Prepare two small wool threads in advance.Make a cut in a circle by passing the scissors between two cardboard rings. Thread the thread and pull it tight. Spread out the pom pom. Repeat with the second ring.
4. Connect two pompoms together, where the small ball will be the head and the large ball will be the body.
5.Take the yarn, hook and, making 10 air loops, knit 4-5 rows. It turned out to be a wing. Knit another one like this. Tie a beak from red threads. If you don't know how to use a crochet hook, the wings and beak can be made from pieces of fabric in yellow and red colors, respectively. Sew the parts in the right places.
6.Glue the eyes. All that remains is to decorate the chicken’s neck with a bow.
The toy is ready.
