Plastic bottles, freed from their use, become an excellent material for any kind of base in handicrafts. With their help, you can give shape, make a form for a small volume, for example, boxes, baskets, etc. Using a plastic bottle base, you can make several different flower baskets. For example, rosehip flowers in a basket with a handle.
Let's prepare the following materials and tools: plastic bottle, green and pink yarn, crochet hook N4, sharp knife, scissors, thermal spray gun, needle, stapler.
Symbols below in the text: v.p. – air loop, st.s.n. – double crochet, double crochet - single crochets.
To make the base for the basket, we take a plastic bottle of a liter or one and a half liter volume. Cut off the neck using a sharp knife. In the lower part we make notches that will determine the depth of the future basket. Next we work with scissors. We cut out the side of the basket along the contour, leaving long segments perpendicular to the side on opposite sides.These then form the handle of the basket, so you need to leave them as long as possible.
We connect the ends of the segments and fasten them with a stapler, then we wrap several layers of tape to hide the metal bracket of the stapler.
Let's get down to it knitting. Let's start by tying the basket. Using a dense single crochet crochet stitch, we knit a circle for the bottom. We try it on the bottle base, adding columns. Having completed a sufficient number of rows so that the bottom is completely closed, we stop adding loops and tie the plastic base on the sides, lifting the knitting up. The last row should be flush with the side of the PET mold.
Next, we knit a strip of st.b.n., the width and length of which will allow us to hide the plastic handle, i.e. should be twice as wide. We connect the strip on the handle, sew it along its entire length and sew it to the bottom of the basket.
Let's get to the leaves. There are knitting patterns for different leaf shapes.
Let's focus on the leaves knitted on a circle from a closed chain of air loops, which we tie in a circle with dc. Then we knit the petiole and the pointed tip of the leaf. We knit 4 - 5 leaves according to the chosen pattern. To play with color, we use yarn of different shades of green, obtaining a thread in several folds.
Queue for flowers. We choose a twisted rose as a flower model for the basket, which resembles a blooming double rose hip. Making such a rose hip flower involves twisting a knitted strip and adding loops.
We collect a chain from v.p. at least 45 pcs. (there should be an odd number of loops), add a loop to turn the knitting. If the yarn chosen is thick enough, such as Karachay acrylic, then the second row can immediately be made airy. If the yarn is thinner, then knit the second row st. s n.in each stitch of the bottom row.
The chain row consists of alternating double crochets and vp: we knit the first three loops with dc (for a denser flower core), then 2 vp, 2 dc.
We make the next row with the addition of loops for volume: 2 tbsp. in the two lower dc., 4 dc. in 2 v.p. bottom row.
We twist the resulting strip so that the last knitted row is on top and sew it together using a knitting needle and thread of the same yarn. Depending on their size and the size of the basket, there can be 3, 5,7 flowers.
For the top of the basket, we knit a circle from any dense yarn, which will become the basis for attaching the bouquet. We sew it to the side of the knitted part of the basket, completely hiding the plastic base.
We collect the details into a single whole. We sew or glue with hot glue to the middle part of the basket, first the leaves, then the flowers.
All that remains is to add small decorating details: either a few rhinestones in the form of large dew, or a small butterfly or ladybug. Your basket of rosehip rose flowers is ready.
