Fridge magnets

Small refrigerator magnets can be found in almost every home. Not everyone thinks that they can be made according to their own design on their own. The process is simple and interesting, and you can involve all family members in making such creative handicrafts.
To make refrigerator magnets in the form of small cars you will need:
• Powder of sculpture or building plaster. Special sculpture plaster can be purchased at art supply stores;
• A container for preparing plaster, a stick or spoon for stirring;
• 30-50 ml of water at room temperature;
• Molds for figures. For example, you can use small silicone molds for baking cookies, molds for making chocolate, confectionery decorations or soap. In this master class, molds for making soap are used, taken from a children's creative soap-making set;
• Gouache or acrylic paints;
• Brush;
• Pieces of adhesive magnetic tape measuring 1.5 by 2 cm (according to the number of figures).

So, you can make your own plaster refrigerator magnets as follows:
• Mix gypsum powder with water.The consistency of the mixture should resemble dough for making pancakes. It must be thoroughly mixed and brought to homogeneity;


• Pour the resulting mixture into molds;
• Leave the molds for about a day at room temperature. This time is necessary for the plaster to completely harden.


Important: approximately 12 hours after pouring the mixture, the figures can be carefully removed from the molds and left on a paper sheet until completely dry;
• Dried figures must be painted, and after the paint has dried, coated with varnish or acrylic;
• Finally, glue a magnet to each figure. The cars are ready.







Important: magnetic tape should be glued to the figures only after it has completely dried.
Such magnets can become not only a decoration for the refrigerator, but also a symbolic gift at any children's event.
