Soft envelope for discs for the birth of a boy

When a baby is discharged from the hospital, there are always very positive, bright and unforgettable emotions, which they always try to capture on video. A few years later, you can turn on and review this video, and then show your son himself what he was like when he was born. Well, imagine that you were invited to celebrate the baby’s discharge and you need to come with some kind of gift. So it would be very useful to give young parents a soft envelope for discs that you can make yourself. You can even put money and a small greeting card in it. And all the years this envelope will store memorable discs.

So, to sew an envelope we take:
• Two squares of binding cardboard 15*15 cm;
• Thick cotton fabric with a marine pattern on a blue background and a light blue background;
• Sintepon;
• Blue cotton lace 35 mm wide;
• Beige satin ribbon with a marine pattern and plain blue, 25 mm wide;
• Blue ribbon with pompoms;
• Picture with the sea bunny Mi;
• Napkin cut out in dark blue color;
• Scrappaper in blue tones, size 15*15 cm;
• Metal steering wheel pendant in silver color;
• Blue metal brads;
• Blue buttons;
• Stamp “Happy Birth of a Boy”;
• Blue ink;
• Glue with the effect of double-sided tape;
• Curb hole punch;
• Cutting flags, bunny;
• Card with children's metrics;
• A small sheet of white cardboard;
• Hot-melt gun, double-sided tape, ruler, pencil, lighter, scissors, glue stick.

First we will make a solid backing for our envelope. To do this, we need to connect two binding squares into one blank. We put two squares and a strip of white cardboard 4*15 cm.

We smear the sides on the binding cardboard with a glue stick, put two squares together and glue a cardboard strip on top at the junction between them. We press, smooth it well and draw it along the bend with scissors so that the envelope folds well.

The solid base is ready, now we will cover it with fabric. Cut two pieces of blue fabric and one larger piece of blue fabric. We cut it with reserves for stitching and so that on the whole large piece there is also a margin of 2 cm around the perimeter for tucking.

We cut a sheet of padding polyester onto an unfolded base, size approximately 15*30 cm. Glue strips of double-sided tape and glue the padding polyester.

We iron the fabric well with an iron, cut off two strips of lace to the places where we will sew the fabric.

We sew the pieces together and then sew the lace onto the seam. We smear the corners of the workpiece with a glue stick, wrap the fabric nicely and glue it, then smear the top, bottom and sides and also wrap and glue the fabric.

We cut 15-16 cm from two tapes and glue them with double-sided tape in the center from the inside.

Now we measure out a strip of scrap paper, like a cardboard strip measuring 4*15 cm, and spread it in the center with a glue stick.

Glue, press and also go through the bend with scissors. Fold the envelope in half.

Now we are preparing the design of the front of the envelope. We glue a napkin, there are two pictures on it, below is an inscription. We sink the edges of all elements with a pad. We sew everything on a machine, and then we sew the envelope itself along the edge.

Now we take scrap paper and cut out two squares of 14.7 * 14.7 cm.

We also cut two rectangles 9.5*14.7 cm, this is for the pockets. From the top and side we go through with a border hole punch on both pockets. We glue the card onto the horizontal pocket and sew it with a machine.
