Volumetric Mittens

Mittens for the winter period - a thing practically non-replaceable. In our climate zone everyone knows this. And besides the practical benefits, fashionistas and needlewomen want to make this accessory also beautiful. And here fantasies can be roamed. Mittens can be sewn, crocheted and knitted, felted from wool, as we see the possibilities for this winter wardrobe are not few, especially since each of the methods has an uncountable number of options and models.

In our case, we choose a tool - a crochet hook and purely wool yarn. 80 g is enough, i.e. you can keep within one hundred-gram skein of wool, and still remain. In addition, you will need the remains of bright threads of contrasting color to design the back of the mittens. The calculation of knitting is easy to do on your own, guided by our example.

Materials for our model:
- 80 g, purely woolen yarn of bright blue-violet color (120 m per 100 g);
- 20 g, acrylic yarn of fancy dyeing in peach tones for knitting flowers;
- 10 grams of any yarn in green colors for leaves;
- hook N 4.

Knitting start with the mittens cuff. To determine the length of the first row, using a thread, measure the hand in the widest place. The first chain of air loops should equal the length of this thread. We close the chain (in our case - 35 loops) into a ring and knit in a circle with simple columns with a yarn at the desired height of the cuff of the mitten. For our mittens, this is 16 rows to the base of the thumb.

Now you need to provide a hole for the thumb. We skip 8 loops of the lower row, knitting as many air loops above them. We connect the next loop with the bottom row, and again we continue to knit in a circle with double crochet columns for the entire length of the palm and 2/3 of the length of the fingers. For our model, this is 12 rows.

Next, we reduce the loop, completing the mittens. Reduction is made taking into account the lateral sides of the mittens. To define them with such a circular knitting is simple: fold the mittens so that the hole for the thumb takes its place, the bends and turn out to be sides. First, we will reduce the loops near the folds to give the necessary shape to the mitten.
13 row - we knit 2 stitches together before the bend, then at the bend place a regular double crochet, then 2 stitches together. Next, we knit to the second bend and repeat the decrease in the same order. Thus, in the 13th row 4 loops are reduced. We knit double crochet up to the first fold.

14 row - before bending, we knit 2 times in a row, 2 loops, at the place of bending - a double crochet, again we knit 2 times in a row, 2 loops. Next, double crochet until the second fold. We repeat - before bending, we knit 2 times in a row, 2 loops, at the place of bending - a double crochet, again we knit 2 times in a row, 2 loops. Thus, in the 14th row 8 loops are reduced.
We knit 15 row as well as 13.

Next, we reduce the loops, knitting every two loops into one, until we complete the mitten. We collect the last 6 loops on one thread and tighten.

We return to the hole for the finger. We collect along the edge of the loop, knitting a thread into each loop of the left opening. The circumference of the thumb at the base is 16 loops. We continue to knit in a circle. In the next 3 rows we reduce 2, 1, and 1 loop. We continue to knit a circle of 12 air loops to the height of a finger, in our model it is 9 rows, then we begin to reduce the loops, knitting two loops of the lower row, until we finish knitting.

We break the thread and proceed to the design of the mittens cuff.We knit one row of crochets, then the second row of air arches in 7 loops through one loop of the bottom row. We knit the second mitten in a mirror image of the first.

It remains to decorate the mitten. To do this, we will knit flowers from peach yarn.
Volumetric Mittens

We collect 4 air loops, close in a ring and knit 2 rows, tying the initial ring, we get 8 loops, then we knit two double crochets in each loop. Then we collect arches from 5 air loops through one loop of the bottom row. In each arch, we further knit with simple columns without a crochet. We get the lower tier of the flower.

Then we straighten the thread on the front side of the knitting and knit in the center the same number of arches from air loops, then we knit each arch with crochets. We get the second tier of the flower. We prepare four such flowers.

It remains to tie the leaves. From green yarn, we knit strips in two rows with double crochets.

To make a bend in the middle, we knit three double crochets into one central loop of the first row. Leaflets should be made as many as flowers.

When all the details are ready, we sew flowers and leaves to the back of each mittens.
