I suggest you make an unusual heart using the artichoke technique of satin ribbon. Everyone who sees products in this technique for the first time, delights in the beauty and unusualness of such crafts. And to master it is very simple, so stock up on materials and get started!
Materials:
• Satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide.
• “Heart” figurine made of polystyrene foam.
• Scissors.
• Office pins.
• Lighter.
• Thin lace or braid, narrow satin ribbon.
• 2 half beads.
For crafts you can use a tape of any color, if desired, you can choose not one, but two or more colors. The size of the foam base is not particularly significant, but it is easier to work with a larger figure. Office pins you can’t do without work can be bought at the stationery store, this is their exact name, which is written on the box. Do not try to replace them with something else - you will not achieve the desired result, and puffs may appear on the tape.
So, let's get to work and we will begin with the preparation of parts from a satin ribbon. We cut the tape into segments of 5 centimeters, wrap the upper corners to the center and singe the workpiece at the junction of the tips with the middle.
On the foam plastic figure, we outline the center, apply the blank so that the corner is directed to the center and fix the remaining two corners with pins. We attach the second blank, as in the photo, and pin with pins.
We attach 3 and 4 blanks and fix with pins.
Next, we need to pin 4 blanks, placing them a little differently than before. Corners should also be directed toward the center, only this time we are backing a bit. And in the middle we glue the half bead.
The next 4 blanks are placed in the same way as in the very first row, only we also retreat slightly from the last row.
According to this principle, alternating the location of the workpieces we lay out the necessary number of rows. In this case, the heart is small and the rows are very small. When you see that you are reaching the edge, you can step back a little from the rules. Arrange the blanks so that they cover the pins from past rows without leaving unexposed sections of the foam. If necessary, in the right places you can slightly cut the workpiece itself, for example: one or 2 corners, or the entire workpiece in length. Try so that the tails do not stick out much in the opposite direction of the heart. In the upper part of the heart you will need to pin the workpiece in 3 places. In general, if you see that the workpiece does not lie down beautifully, then it can be additionally gently chopped in the right place. Only in this case, it is better to hide the extra pins under the tape.
When you are finished with one side of the heart - do the second side in the same way.
The junction of the two halves of the heart must be masked with something suitable: lace or satin ribbon. Another decor option is mid-size half beads.
