Samsung i9190 Galaxy s4 mini was chosen as the “experimental” phone. The device cracked the glass, which has not yet been replaced. To protect the screen from dust and moisture, as well as from further cracking, it was decided to temporarily stick a protective glass on the phone. Glass has a number of advantages over glass:
• the ability to protect the glass of the device from cracking when the display falls down;
• scratch resistance;
• ease of sticking;
• excellent fixation with the screen;
• esthetic appearance.

Workplace preparation
Glass in order to save money was ordered on one of the Chinese sites. Two napkins came with it in individual packages:
1. wet, with a cleaning and degreasing impregnation;
2. Dry non-woven.
In the absence of such napkins in the kit, they can be replaced with a regular alcohol napkin (or a cotton pad soaked in vodka or alcohol) and a microfiber cloth. Transparent adhesive tape may also be required to remove tiny fibers from the screen.
The workplace should be solid (for example, a kitchen table) and well-lit. Otherwise, dust and stains may go unnoticed when gluing glass.

Phone glass preparation
1. Wash your hands to prevent accidentally leaving greasy fingerprints on the glass and phone.
2. If there is a protective film on the phone, remove it.
3. Take an alcohol napkin (in our case it is a napkin from bag No. 1) and process centimeter by centimeter the entire screen of the phone without missing a single spot.
4. Take a microfiber cloth (we used a tiny cloth from bag No. 2) and wipe the glass dry.
5. Look at the phone in the light: are there any untreated areas, dust particles or villi on it. If these are noticed, they can be removed using the sticky side of ordinary transparent tape, followed by microfiber treatment.

Glass sticking
• The glass on one side has a protective film, which, pulling the tab, must be removed before gluing. Glass must always be held on the sides so as not to leave marks on it.
• Having freed from the film, the glass with this side should be brought to the phone screen, aligning it as much as possible along the edges of the display, buttons and dynamics.
• After making sure that all reference points are observed and that the glass is aligned at the edges, lower it onto the screen. Silicone coating protects self-adhesive glass.
• If there are islands of air under the glass, remove them with a cloth by smoothing them using an adhesive protection.

    I would like to add, if you glue it for the first time - few people get it, so you can slightly sprinkle the sticky layer of the film (slightly!) With a solution of water and shampoo. It turns out the film will "ride" on the surface and will not stick immediately, which will give time to carefully fit it in all corners).

    Interesting glass! It bends well .... it is an ordinary film, and glass is really "glass", solid, which does not bend. And the glass glue is located only on the office, so it is glued only along the contour, and not on the entire surface like this film!

      There are protective glasses with an adhesive silicone layer on the contour (they are cheap but do not hold well) and there are protective glasses with an adhesive silicone layer on the entire surface (they hold well but cost several times more than those where the adhesive is on the contour).

    Hello!
    Indeed, as Felicity noted, "the first time - few people succeed." But what if this “time” is the only one? And is there a great risk of getting poorly glued glass with lakes of air under it? But you can get excellent results the first time. But this requires an understanding of the essence of the process and the corresponding equipment of the workplace.
    To begin, I will describe the essence of the process. Since all objects are plastic, even when handling them, they are easily electrified. And while the old film comes off, the screen is rubbed with a napkin, the film is removed from the new glass, the surface of the screen and the new glass are electrified and manage to pull microparticles out of the air. Microparticles fall from clothes, hair of the head ... But it doesn’t matter why! We do not see them with our ordinary eyes. But after gluing glass or film to the screen, they clearly begin to be seen as air bubbles. And it will not work to remove such a bubble, because the microparticle has already “glued” into the adhesive layer of glass or film. Ironing would squeeze out the air, but the particle wouldn’t. But she creates a certain cavity for air.
    Therefore, the main requirement is to de-electricize the working volume, to remove electric charges from oneself, from clothes, from glass, from the screen.
    For this;
    1. Prepare sprayer. A bottle (25 - 50 ml.) With a pressure spray bottle from under ethanol is very convenient (buy at a pharmacy). Pour extra in an empty bottle of preferably distilled water with half a drop of Ferry. Read and ponder the Felicity add-on. Practice spraying thin layers on any subject.
    2. Choose a table for which you will work. There should not be any passing air flows, drafts capable of carrying dust.
    3. Wipe the table surface with a damp rag with a small amount of Ferry. This will remove the static from the surface of the table and remove and bind the remaining dust.
    4. Boil the kettle with the spout in advance and put it on the work table on an electric tile 30 to 40 centimeters from the working area. So that he gives a trickle of steam passing 40-50 inches above the table. This steam will remove static from objects located in the working area. But don't overdo it. Condensation in the form of rain or rain should not be.
    5. Prepare all the accessories on the table.
    6. Wash hands thoroughly and preferably face with soap a couple of times. When washing your hands, you yourself through a stream of water (and water conducts an electric current), "ground" through the water supply system. And wash off microparticles of skin and fat from your face. Sim will not only get clean hands (which is very important), but also refresh yourself before work.
    7. Perform all operations, which are described by the author of the article and use the add-on from Felicity. In 12 minutes - 17 minutes, if you carefully read the article and recommendations, you will get beautifully glued glass without air inclusions.
