» »A simple way to eliminate computer noise
Good and clean computer equipment makes noise during operation, but it is so insignificant that it resembles a breath of wind. The same cannot be said for PCs and laptops that need to be cleaned, lubricated or repaired. Noise should not distract the user during his work. Therefore, you need to know what causes it and how to quickly fix the problem.
There are three main causes of computer noise:
• pollution;
• wear of the main parts;
• grease production in one of the coolers.
It is difficult for a person who is not a computer professional to determine the true cause of the problem. Of course, if there is time and desire, it is best to contact a service center. But in this article I want to tell a way that helped me eliminate annoying noise before the arrival of the computer master.
I want to note right away that this is not a panacea and over time the noise will return. This is a temporary measure that will help facilitate the existence of the user until the arrival of a service center employee.
Step 1. Initially, we need to listen to the computer and establish a noise source. A lot of details can make a noise. My noise provoked the cooler of the power supply. This is how it looks.

way to eliminate computer noise

You can also see that the cooler is dusty and needs to be cleaned, but, alas, it is better for a person who has never opened the power supply to remove dirt or to fully lubricate it yourself.

way to eliminate computer noise

Step 2. We cannot completely eliminate the dirt that has accumulated in the fan, without disassembling the power supply, we cannot. But you can lubricate the computer. To do this, you need: a syringe (two), engine oil and a dry sponge.

way to eliminate computer noise

I want to clarify right away: choose a syringe with a small needle, and you can use only oil for sewing and household machines as a lubricant. The ideal computer grease is, of course, thermal grease. It is thick, does not spread and maintains the working state of all PC parts for a long time. But in this case, you can do without it.
Step 3. Go directly to the remote lubrication. We collect a little engine oil into the syringe.

way to eliminate computer noise

Now back to our cooler. The fan axis is slightly visible behind the iron mesh. It is covered with a golden sticker. You need to carefully pierce the sticker with a needle in several places and introduce the oil.

way to eliminate computer noise

Step 4. We remove the remaining oil remaining on the surface with a dry sponge. That's all.

way to eliminate computer noise

And finally, I want to say that such manipulations are always associated with risk. So think a few times before using my advice.

Be careful with the oil, it is easier to unscrew 8 screws and remove the fan itself, than risk splashing oil where it should not.

Oil does not conduct electric current, the method has a place to be. But it’s better to disassemble (remembering the steps and photographing each process (for beginners), remove the cooler, tear off that “golden sticker, open the rubber plug, remove the lock ring, remove the“ propeller ”, remove the wound hair from the axis, rinse and sprinkle the blades with antistatic agent, dry, drip and assemble back (we don’t forget about the locking one), glue it on top (preferably with paper - a sticker) with adhesive tape.

If the plug in the fan is made of rubber, the fan is squeezed at a time ... another question is whether the power supply housing grille interferes ...

An article from the bulldog, just to write something.
    1. "Perfect computer grease - this is undoubtedly thermal grease." Where does Apple and Intel look? Such a talent disappears)))
    2. Poking somewhere under the golden sticker, you can only pour oil under the golden sticker))) The bearing itself is hidden by a rubber plug.
    3. Lubricate just with machine oil is not worth it, the effect will be a maximum of a week. It is better to lubricate with motor or transmission oil, their lubricating qualities are several orders of magnitude higher than the burd that is sold in household stores.
    4. Well, with this sponge oil can only be smeared on the surface. It is easier to remove the oil with a paper towel.

Everything is correctly noticed, but it is best to lubricate the fan bearings with silicone oil.

      oil ... oil ...
PS: technical petroleum jelly !!! Here's what you need to apply, it’s easy to replace cosmetic in any pharmacy, the main thing is to choose without aromatic additives ... It’s not expensive, the tube / jar will last forever, you can only lubricate it with a completely disassembled cooler ... But one procedure for working around the clock the fan is enough for six months to a year, and if you use it for a couple of hours a day, then for a couple of years ... Well, we change the sticker on the case with ordinary tape (you can also use paper masking), first we paste / smooth it 3-4 times / tear off for cleaning rhnosti, then a couple of finishing layers, too much in a circle with a knife cut the bureaucratic way ... fiksiruschie washers to remove the cooler is convenient to fine forceps, and to set in place the empty core from the pen (for case fans of the gel).

I maintain that there is enough lubrication for a week, for a maximum of a month.
In this case, the fan is 80, if there is a grill for the fan,
then you can do with little blood, without parsing the system unit and without removing
    power supply unit.
    1) Side cutters, carefully bite out the fan grill.
Very sharp burrs will remain, so measures must be taken to dull them.
Otherwise, you can get quite decent cuts.
    2) Remove the sticker, and pull out the plug.
It is advisable to wash the bearing from the old dried grease, you can gently dissolve it with alcohol (gasoline, acetone, solvent, etc.) and wipe off the residue with a cotton pad or cotton swab and only then lubricate it with new grease. With alcohol and other solvents without fanaticism, so as not to leak into the PSU. With grease also do not overdo it; if you stuff it tightly, the bearing can get very hot.
    3) We close the plug, sculpt the sticker, if it is still “alive”, if not, it’s okay, adhesive tape to help.
    4) We put the grill lattice on the fan, unscrew it and immediately put in place one screw at a time so that the fan does not fall inside. And so in turn, the author has 2 screws, maybe all 4. If everything is done correctly and normal lubrication is applied, then for a year it will be enough for sure. But the best thing is to get rid of blocks with 80 fans, except for the noise they are of no use.
As the author advised, do not, without understanding what you are doing and how the fan is designed, 100% lubrication will remain only under the sticker. Good luck everyone!

In principle, you can do without a grid. Even if during operation you accidentally stop the fan with your hand, nothing bad will happen. The maximum it will work in the PSU protection against overheating or stopping and the computer will turn off.Such a fan will not cause injury.

All my life I have been disassembling the PSU, blowing them with a vacuum cleaner (with the possibility of blowing), where necessary - drove a dust with a brush. They pulled out the plug from the propeller, poured oil. And what is written in the article, with all due respect to the author, is half the battle.

Lubricating bearings with thermal grease is a new word in PC maintenance.))
And personally, like Vyacheslav, I bite the middle of the grill with side cutters, remove the rubber plug, wash the shaft and bearing wd40 and lubricate with lithium aerosol grease. This is a type of dissolved lithol, which, after drying, becomes thick. It lasts a long time.
And I clean the dust like that
I take the computer and drag it into the tire fitting. There is a purge gun and compressed air. I take off the sidewall and purge everything. The main thing you need to know here is that you need to blow out the computer on the street! )

Oil does not conduct current, but it can destroy most plastics - of which fans are made. Only silicone grease can be used safely! In addition, the oil thickens quickly enough, from which a low-power fan will simply stop!

Like from the pros: to lubricate the cooler you need:
    1. Remove
    2. Disassemble
    3. Rinse
    4. Dry
    5. Degrease
    4. Lubricate the axle! With thick !!! silicone grease
    5. Reassemble in reverse order.

And if the cooler axis has developed and hangs, the noise will appear again after 2-3 days.

I wouldn’t pour oil in the spindle, it’s easier to disassemble the power supply unit, Vacuum clean, remove all dust, and also remove the dust from the fan, then, peel the label off the cooler, glue it a little graphite, it will work for 2 weeks, and go for a new cooler!

First of all, not a cooler, but a cooler. Secondly, look what dirt you have in the PSU! Just cockroaches did not start. The bearing is a native special grease. Pour the left oil "by touch", not seeing where you are pouring -
the surest way to ditch him. Remove the PSU from the computer, disassemble it and vacuum it for 15-20 minutes and no difficulty. Then he will not make noise.

Zvizdets. in this article (especially in the photo) it is only possible to organize the sticking of dust. Especially when you consider that the plugs there sometimes are unheard of - it is simply sealed and liquid grease will leak out, sometimes rubber, and sometimes deaf plastic.
And if they also miss about the type of oil, then the khan is to the power supply, and possibly to the computer. As for the thick silicone grease, people write correctly, it is not so difficult to find it.

Disassemble and put a little bit on the axis with the bearing of the baby cream. Forget the noise for a long time If the bearing is not dead)

It is quite effective advice, but I would like to adjust it for the better.
    1. The oil indicated by the author in the photo is better not to use. Use transmission oil, it has much better adhesion to the materials of the axis and bearing of the cooler, and also it is thicker and holds better in the gap.
    2. In many coolers, the axis is closed with a plastic cover that the syringe will not pierce.
    3. It is much more efficient to remove the cooler, remove the sticker and cover, with a needle, remove the split retaining ring from the axis and dismantle the impeller, being careful not to lose the plastic and rubber rings on the axis. Rinse the axle and bushing with alcohol or solvent, removing debris, wear products and old grease. Then we assemble the cooler back, connect it to the power source and put the gear oil in the bearing. Make sure the cooler is silent.Put the cover in place, instead of the native sticker we use a piece of electrical tape. If the bearing did not work for a long time without lubrication, then it will work for a year or two until the next disassembly.
