A magnetic stirrer is necessary in every laboratory for mixing liquids of different viscosities. Now you can assemble a magnetic stirrer for your mini laboratory.

So we will need: a cooler from a computer, magnets from an old or broken speaker, instant glue, a case from a CD, and a few other little things that are found in almost every home.

Take the disc case.

And using a compass or some other method, we cut out such a circle, smaller in size than the diameter of the cooler blades.

Then we'll take the old speaker

And let's take the magnet out of it.

Let's break this magnet into pieces and glue them to a circle of CDs, and the circle, in turn, will glue it to the center of the cooler.

Now if you turn on the cooler, the magnets will rotate along with the blades.

Then we make the body. In the pictures below there are three options: from a plastic jar, from plexiglass, from wood. Whichever one you like, do it that way.

If desired, you can make a diagram of the cooler rotation speed regulator.

You can make the control circuit simpler - using just one wirewound variable resistor or potentiometer.

And finally - the mixer in action:

Job: An oblong magnet is thrown into a vessel with a stirred liquid.Place the vessel on the stirrer. The rotation of the cooler magnets is transmitted to the magnet in the vessel. Accordingly, the smaller the distance between the magnet in the vessel and the magnets on the cooler, the better!

I did everything as written here, but the stirrer does not work! does not grab the “anchor” even if the flask is brought almost close to the magnets ((maybe the fan is running too fast?

We will attach 2 magnets to the fan with superglue. It is very important that at the same time they “look” at each other with opposite poles. The distance between the magnets should be slightly less than the length of the armature.
After the magnets are glued, you can check the correct assembly by bringing the armature to the motor axis. At the same time, it should orient itself and be attracted to both halves of the magnet.

Who knows, help me, what kind of potentiometer should I install? We have a 12V 1A power supply, a cooler with max. consumed voltage 12V and current 0.4A. When directly connected to the power supply, the cooler spins at the stated 3500 rpm. This creates excessive carbonation of the liquid; I don’t need to mix Coca-Cola)

please tell me, what if you install the entire magnet from the speaker on the cooler without breaking it?
