Elastic band “Star” made of satin ribbons

Even with the onset of cool days, girls braid their hair with various hairpins, clips or elastic bands. The color scheme and design of the decoration changes only due to age. Bright and fluffy hairpins are suitable for little girls, while schoolgirls prefer classic types of elastic bands with strict shades. Such decorations include the “Star” elastic band.



For production you will need:
- satin ribbons in black and white colors.
- scissors.
- ruler.
- glue gun.
- black half beads.
- silver-colored rhinestones.
- lighter.
- scrunchy.
- decorative center in the shape of a flower.

Making decorations.
From black and white tape you need to prepare identical blanks in the form of squares with sides of 5 cm.



To make a flower, you need to prepare two types of petals: simple and two-color. To create two-color details, two shades of ribbon will be used. First, the black square should be shaped into a triangle by folding it in half.



One of the sides of the triangle consists of a fold; its right corner should be turned towards the middle of the part.



With the second corner, repeat the action, turning it towards the center.



The sections of the created workpiece must be slightly singed to secure the folds, but leaving them soft.



Now you need to make a triangle from white tape.



A black square must be placed on top of this triangle, precisely matching their edges.



Now we wrap the black part with the corners of the white triangle. First we bend the corner from the right edge.



Then from the left edge, bringing them to the middle.



Now you should fold the piece in half so that the edge of the black tape remains outside.



Holding the sharp edges of the part, you need to slightly pull them out by folding the corner of the black square.



While holding the workpiece in this position, you need to cut off too thin sections. The new edges should be scorched with a lighter to solder them together.



Now you need to shape the depth of the petal by cutting off the excess tape along the entire part.



The created sections should be treated with fire, keeping them from shedding. All that remains is to straighten the two-color petal and create 7 more similar details.



From the prepared two-color petals you need to glue a flower, collecting them in a circle.



Simple one-color petals are made from white squares. They are made like two-color parts, but without adding a black center. Otherwise, the entire sequence is repeated. You will need 8 white simple petals.



The white petals remain to be glued between the parts of the finished flower.



Now you should cut out a circle from white tape, the diameter of which should be 4 cm. It must be singed along the entire circumference.



This circle needs to be greased with glue and attached to the wrong side of the flower, covering the sections of all petals.



All that remains is to attach a hair elastic in the center of the decoration.



Turning the front side over, you need to complement the petals with flowers, black half-beads and silver rhinestones. In the center you need to glue the finished center.



The hair decoration is ready!
