» »Smoke from the fingers

Pretty spectacular experiment.
You will need: a box of matches and a lighter.
Cut the sulfur from the matchbox, bend in half and set it on fire.
Wipe off any remaining residue with your finger.
rub your fingers against each other and you're done.
Be careful!!!

I don’t know how smoke is taken here, but in childhood we burned this chirp and smeared it (hands, face) - it glows in the dark. At the same time, I’ve never seen smoke, maybe in the video a shirp from another substance?

It’s not sulfur, but the side part of the box that is struck with a match, it contains red phosphorus, when ignited, during combustion, the part is modified into white phosphorus which starts to smoke when friction and due to human heat and can catch fire with a large amount. Phosphorus is especially white, a very toxic substance penetrates the skin, burns from it are very dangerous and do not heal for a long time, which is the main component in incendiary mixtures called Napalm then put out.

This is not sulfur, but red phosphorus. When heated and condensation goes into another state - white phosphorus. The one that glows.

Safely. Phosphorus, even in a box of matches, is hundreds of times less than the permissible norm.
