So let's get to work. The household found an unnecessary coffee table with three legs - this model was very popular in the 70-80s. last century.
For decoration we will need the following materials:
• table top from a coffee table;
• beautiful dense fabric;
• expressive braid with tassels to match the fabric;
• underwear elastic;
• threads.
In the process of work, 2 needles (curved and regular), scissors, a pin and a sewing machine will be used.
1. Unscrew the legs from the table.
2. Lay the fabric on the floor with the wrong side up.We cut out the fabric according to the shape of the tabletop so that the material protrudes beyond the boundaries of the board by 10-15 cm.
3. We sew the edges of the material with a sewing machine so that they do not fray during further processing.
4. Fold the overcast edge of the fabric to the wrong side by 1.5-2 cm and sew it on.
5. Using a small pin, insert a linen elastic into the groove formed and slightly tighten it.
6. Place the tabletop on the treated fabric and straighten the material.
7. Carefully gather the fabric from the reverse side so that gathers are formed and secure with threads.
8. As a result of the manipulations carried out, the tabletop should take on the following appearance.
9. Place the covered tabletop on its edge and begin sewing on the braid. It is best to do this with a curved needle, however, you can use an ordinary needle.
10. We continue to secure the braid, evenly distributing it along the edge of the tabletop.
11. Place the decorated tabletop on the edge of the sofa. If the back of the sofa and its sides are at different levels, it is necessary to equalize the height by placing a suitable wooden block on the lower edge. If necessary, we cover it with fabric and strengthen it on the surface so that it does not move.
