» »Filter for decorative pond
The smallest pond in the garden is decoration and zest. He necessarily attracts attention, sets up for a quiet contemplation and peace. However, the smaller the body of water, the sooner it will become clogged, green, and turn into a swamp. To a good degree, the filter helps to a large extent. You can do it without serious labor and financial losses.
The principle of the filter is airlift. Simple and effective. A bubble of air, rising to the surface, carries a little water on itself, i.e., water, as in an elevator, goes to the surface. Hence the name. The operation scheme is extremely simple: the filter element is foam rubber, the air from the aquarium compressor is supplied through a tube to a larger tube and, together with purified water, comes to the surface.

1. For the filter element, I took:
- a strip of foam rubber 5 cm thick and 15 cm wide .;
- kapron threads;
- a straw from juice;
- wooden skewers;
- and a piece of cardboard 15x7.5 cm.

3. In order for the inner hole to be in the middle, I made a cardboard template.

4. I cut off the bottom of a metal tube - a very convenient tool for cutting round holes in a soft material.

5. The template allows you not to waste time on the layout, and the former tube to make perfect holes.

7. They need to be done so that the height of the filter is slightly less than the depth of the pond.

8. There is no need to “leak” the last billet - we’ll pass a straw from the juice through it. This will be the duct.

10. The block of blanks is sewn together in the corners. We tie the ends of the threads to the skewers.

11. The lower skewers do not need to be trimmed. We’ll put stones on them, no matter what the filter pops up.

12. I closed the opening of the upper block with the foam rubber cut from it, through which I passed a piece of hose with a diameter of 10 mm. Purified water will enter the pond through it. The thinner the hose, the higher the fountain.

14. This aquarium compressor allows you to pump 150 liters of water per hour through the filter.

16. The filter itself is fixed at the bottom of the pond.

17. You can decode a filter in many ways. For the first time, I covered it with a lily of oilcloth.

18. This simple design allows you to maintain perfect transparency of the water throughout the summer season. You do not need to clean the filter during this time. I have such an assistant installed in a pond with a volume of 2.5 m3. , but I think that power will be enough for a larger volume.
