To make a rose from foamiran, you don’t need much.
• Foamiran.
• Glue gun.
• Scissors.
• Pattern.
• Candle or iron (optional).
First you need to draw or download a pattern of petals. I made it myself by drawing circles of different diameters on cardboard. We put them on the foamiran and outline them. Try to place patterns closer to reduce material consumption. Although Chinese foamiran is not so expensive, it is not worth translating in vain.
I took sheets of two colors to make the foamiran rose more interesting. You can tint the petals, but today we’ll look at the simplest and fastest option. I cut out circles of different sizes, 15 pieces in total.
What was left was this scrap; instead of making a core from cotton wool or foil, I made it from this unnecessary piece.
Next I give the petals a slightly more elongated shape.This is done by hand, or you can first apply a piece of foamiran to any hot surface (iron, curling iron) for a couple of seconds. Some masters heat over candles, avoiding contact with the flame.
The petals turn out different, but that’s their beauty.
Now you can connect the glue gun to the network. I work quickly, otherwise the straightened rod will flow out of the spout in vain; I have a gun without a thermostat.
Having rolled up the middle, I secure it by lightly pressing the gun button once, and it sets instantly. I tried using other types of glue, I advise you not to waste your time. Hot is the best option.
Next, the foamiran rose is assembled petal by petal. We simply attach them at the base, one after another, overlapping.
I placed the darker petals at the edges, it turned out interesting.
In order for a foamiran rose to become the basis for a brooch or hairpin, the back part must be made flat. To do this, simply cut off the excess and glue it if necessary.
Now the foamiran rose is ready, I plan to make about 10 of them and make a panel for the living room. But you can use these flowers in hair decorations, stick them on the lid of a box, or make a keychain for a handbag.
