The most necessary thing in our time, which is always with us, is a notepad. To write something down, to remember something, to find some note; for this we always need a diary or notepad. A wide range of notepads can, of course, be found in any stationery store, where you can find them in any format, color and texture. You can choose either a strict cover or something fun and colorful. There are many options and the choice in the store is rich, but you can make your notebook something special, so you can find a solution to this yourself. You can take either a simple block and make the cover you want on it, or transform an ordinary standard notebook into a beautiful handmade notebook. Right now we will independently learn how to make a soft cover for a notebook using the technique scrapbooking. In it you can choose absolutely any picture, fabric and decor and do everything exclusively to your taste. The process of making the cover is quite interesting, so we won’t hesitate for long and will get started right now.
To create the cover we will need to take:
• 100% cotton fabric, beige-gray with white polka dots, 20*25 cm;
• Block for A6 notebook with endpapers;
• Two blanks made of binding cardboard 10*15 cm;
• Sheet padding polyester;
• Picture with owls;
• Gray cardboard;
• Acrylic stamp “Notepad”, black ink;
• White cotton lace and brown;
• Beige epoxy brads with polka dots in a metal frame, round;
• Narrow beige ribbon 3 mm wide;
• Eiffel Tower metal pendant in bronze color;
• Stationery clips;
• Stationery glue and Moment Crystal glue;
• Double-sided tape;
• Scissors, ruler with pencil;

materials

Blanking cardboard blanks measuring 10*15 cm, place them side by side at a distance of 1.5 cm from each other. We cut gray cardboard 15 cm long and 3.5 cm wide. Divide the width into three parts 1 cm, 1.5 cm and 1 cm, draw bend lines under the ruler, draw the lines with scissors.

We coat both sides, which are 1 cm thick, with PVA glue and thus glue the cardboard binding blanks together. We smooth it well and again draw the scoring lines with scissors so that the workpiece is well closed. We cut the padding polyester exactly into this resulting blank in an open form. We glue pieces of double-sided tape and glue the padding polyester to the binding cardboard so that it does not move.

We iron the fabric well, place it face down, now we place the workpiece with the padding polyester down, wrap it on all sides and glue it with “Crystal Moment”, smooth it out thoroughly. Glue a piece of brown lace to the bends.

We sew on the inscription and picture with a machine.We insert brads in the corner of the picture. Cut out the bookmark and glue it to the other side of the cover. We sew the cover around the perimeter, retreating from the edge approximately 2-3 mm, maintaining the same distance everywhere. The cover itself is ready. Now we will glue it to the block.

We smear the block with glue, glue a double folded bandage onto it, spread it well with glue, insert it into the cover, smear the sides of the endpapers and smooth it out. Now we wrap everything together in paper and clamp it with paper clips. Leave in this position for 24 hours.

Remove the clamps. Open and close several times and our notebook is ready! The result is such an interesting notebook with owls. Thank you for your attention!
