Valentine's Day, a gourmet dinner, tenderness and hugs, and, of course, candles. Where without them? Nowadays, incorrigible romantics without candles do not pass a single love surprise. Let's try to make a real scented candle with our own hands! To do this, you will need:
• 4-5 stearin suppositories.
• A glass (you can take a regular glass, or you can use a disposable one).
• Cosmetic fragrance (in this case, for example, “Rose” is best suited).
• Napkin for decoupage.
• Ribbon and bow for final decoration.
In addition, certain tools and utensils will be needed:
• Capacity for melting.
• Saucepan with water.
• Tweezers or tweezers.
• Tea spoon.
• Pencil.

Valentine's day candle

Preparation for melting candles. If you take a plastic cup, you do not need to prepare it in any way. But keep in mind that the candle made in it will need to be trimmed, since such a glass is not straight, but tapers to the bottom. If the glass is glass, grease its walls and bottom with some cream or cosmetic oil. This must be done in order to make it easier to pull out the candle. Put a water bath. Break the candles into small pieces.

candles

Leave one of the pieces longer than all the others - you will need to pull the wick out of it. Therefore, note that the length of this piece should be the same as you want to get a candle. Stearin melts very quickly, so after 5-6 minutes you will get a clear liquid. To make the material melt faster, you can slightly stir it or easily shake the melting tank. When the stearin has melted, take the tweezers and carefully remove all the short wicks, and the long one last.

candle wick

When you get it, place one end on the bottom of the glass and fix it with a drop of stearin exactly in the center. Then put a pencil on top of the glass and simply throw the other end of the wick through it.

lower the wick

Without removing the stearin from the heat, add cosmetic fragrance (from 15 to 30 drops, depending on the desired aroma saturation). After that, immediately remove the stearin from the water bath and stir a little. Pour all the melted mass into a glass and leave until the candle hardens.

fill in

When the candle has completely cooled and hardened, remove it from the glass.

Trim if necessary. Now take a napkin and separate the topmost layer with the pattern. Attach it to the candle with the pattern facing out. After that, heat a teaspoon over the fire and, holding it well, apply it to a napkin.

melt with a spoon

Since the spoon is hot, the stearin under it will melt, and the pattern will be imprinted on the surface.

Typically, a decoupage pattern is coated on top with glue for greater strength. In the manufacture of a candle, this is not recommended, in order to avoid unpleasant odors during its burning. Thus, when you have decorated the entire candle with a pattern, you only need to leave it shortly before it completely hardens and fixes the pattern. Then tie the candle with a ribbon with hearts and decorate with a bow.
