I really love working with threads. I knit, crochet, embroider, make paintings in the style of string art and thread printing. It relaxes you so much after a hard day, distracts you from routine household chores, that the next morning you want to live and work again. Small skeins of yarn are always left after work. Where to apply them? And one day I decided to make a simple and long-forgotten amulet doll. Often such dolls are made of fabric, given to children and they serve as a certain protection. But a craft made from threads also has similar power. In addition, this work is much simpler and requires less material costs. Plus, as I said above, you will solve the problem with the remains of small skeins of thread.

What do you need to prepare for work? I took:
- a small ball of gray knitting thread;
- a dense base (you can take a piece of wood, a book or a notepad);
- scissors;
- decorative satin ribbon (0.5 cm wide) in a lilac shade to decorate the work.

First, take the thread and gradually wrap it around the base. I took a regular computer mouse pad. You can use any book, a thick cover notebook, or a piece of wood. The width of my base is about 16 cm (this will be the size of the product).Try to keep the threads close to one another.

As soon as the skein on the base turns out dense and fluffy, you need to stop. I ended up with about 50 wraps around the mat. This will be the body of the future doll.

Now you need to make another skein of thread nearby. Only it should be less dense (20-23 turns on the base will be enough). This is us making hair for the doll.

Now take scissors and cut off the bottom edge of two skeins. Try to hold them on top with your hands so that they do not fall apart. Thus, we got two blanks: one larger and the other smaller.

It is necessary to tie the smaller workpiece with a regular knot in the middle of the larger skein. Try to keep both halves as even as possible.

Now fold the larger piece in half and spread the smaller base to the sides.

Next we move on to shaping the head. Step back about 3.5 cm from the top of the product and tie this part with thread. This is how we get the head of the doll.

Now, from the main skein, separate a few threads to the right and left - these will be the arms of the doll. And in the middle of the remaining length, tie a thread around the doll’s waist.

At this stage we need to braid two braids on top. You can leave the ponytails or weave one large braid. In a word, we are doing the doll's hairstyle.

And now we are forming handles for our product. You can also make them in the form of weaves, or tie them into bundles at the ends, or braid them into braids.

Now all that remains is to cut off all the threads protruding at the edges, comb the doll’s skirt with your hands and decorate the product. For this I used a thin lilac satin ribbon. You can take any shade and other decorative decorations.
